  1. Hello, Is it allowable for a CR1 applicant to change from maiden to married last name on her passport after the DS-260 but before the CR1 interview? Any chance this last name change causes delays or rescheduling? Here is the full rundown of our situation: My wife (applicant) renews her passport next week and wishes to change to her married last name Our I-130 and DS-260 forms use her maiden name and do not include married last name in aliases Our CR1 interview is next month My wife is English but her CR1 appointment is in the Netherlands where we live We have contacted the US Consulate in Amsterdam, who gave no answer and directed us to the US Department of State Visa Appointment Service in the Netherlands The Visa Appointment Service's response on the last name change was, "We cannot advise." Any input would be greatly appreciated, especially from CR1 applicants from the Netherlands. We ultimately want to ensure no delays, and if that means keeping maiden name on her passport for 10 years to be safe, we will do this. To confirm, I have scoured all variations of this topic on VisaJourney but could not find a definitive answer to our situation and country. Here are the two most applicable posts I could find: One post from a British CR1 applicant mentioned you may arrive at the appointment (in London) with the new passport with new last name, and they can change it on the spot there. No need to update the DS-260 form: Another post from a Ukrainian CR1 applicant received a response for the US Consulate in Ukraine that they should send a scan of the new passport before the interview so the DS-260 can be changed: Many thanks in advance for your input!
