  1. So we just have to wait ? what happens If we file a form I-485 ? or can we request a receipt number if they did file one for us when she entered?
  2. My wife entered the US recently ( about a week ago ) and when she passed through immigration all they said was that she'll get her green card through the mail and that was it. We paid the online fee before she came here however when we check her case status/receipt online all we get is an error. I managed to get through emma to a live agent and they told me they can't help me because they need a verbal confirmation from her to provide the information needed. Anyone that has called USCIS has probably found out that it just runs in circles. So is there anything we can do? we have no idea if there's something wrong with our application or we need to do anything? should we just fill out the application ourselves ? It feels like we're in limbo. All we have is the case number and her registration number. We don't feel comfortable just waiting around to find out in june the case was stuck in limbo and we had to go through a different process.
  3. Okay, thanks for the confirmation. Do you know if they'll accept a binder or a book style ? Or they like loose leafs? I wanted to organize a nice binder so they can see what they want effectively.
  4. So for the I-130 application we did a powerpoint. A basic intro, an index organized by month with a picture of my passport stamp, a receipt from the hotel with just my spuse name on it but it matched the date on the stamp. And then a page with 1 or 2 pictures of what we did with a very short description. When we did the I-130 it was 6 trips. Can I just do the same for the interview? Except this time a binder with just the index and then that organization? By now we have 14 trips. I'll give my wife my passport so she can show them the stamps are real to the interviewer. I ask because when my wife went for the medical examination people were building these 200+ pages of online chat as evidence with pictures. Just 3 days ago my wife edited a screenshot from her computer using paint to trick a classmate into thinking the server lost her homework because she didn't want her friend cheating off of her. Surely online chats and screenshots are a waste of time? because you can just fabricate them or even download them and do a quick edit. If we only have 10-15 mins to convince them, they aren't going to bother with it. Same with the letter from the loved ones, those can be fabricated. Are those legit evidence? Should we just keep it simple and organized? 32 pages from 14 trips with actual glued or stickied pictures with the stamps and hotel receipts? Or go nuts?
  5. Thank you everyone. I was sooo confused. I even called utah and they were all asking me "what government entity is asking for this, we don't have a civil registry here." But thanks!
  6. Me and my wife married through zoom, so our marriage location / host is the state of utah. We have 3 copies of that marriage certificate. We did not register our marriage in colombia, it nowhere does it specify that we needed to. It also states that we need the original civil registry from where ever we got married. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Colombia.html This is my wife's first marriage so she doesn't have a registry in colombia, and I'm not colombiam i'm a U.S citizen from new york. Is there a specific civil registry? Or does that mean the marriage certificate from utah? The wording makes it sound they don't care if we got married in colombia, they want the first and the original. Which is what we have? But the "civil registry" in the e-mail text concerns me, even though the literal attachment to it specifies a certificate of marriage and divorce certificate (my divorce) and everything was approved for the DS-260 + the affadavit of support.
  7. My wife has been acting really strange the last 2 months, I'm having really bad feelings about the affadivid of support I signed. It's so bad I'm not even sure if she was the one texting me this morning. She's been distant but suddently she tells me out of nowhere she wants to travel 8 hours to a distant city for a seminar for 3 days. I tell her go, even though she never told me she was interested in that sort of thing, i did tell her i'm not going to pay her for her trip. She started acting a little pissy about it, posted on her instagram "if you have the opportunity to be born poor in a **** hole, reject it". I pay all her bills, and give her plenty of extra money for her to save up, she's definetly waaaaaaaaaaayyyy off from being poor. But she's been a bit spicy ever since. I also owed my ex 3k and wanted to pay her in full, my wife got to the point of wanting to tell my ex she was pregnant and I couldn't pay her the full amount and looked for pictures online of a pregnant woman that had her skin tone just to save 1k. I'm not feeling comfortable being on the hook of paying 20k + a year to someone I just recently saw scheme someone out of very little money. Note: NVC has my case under review, we still don't have an interview date.
  8. I swear the question asked when did my last marriage end not when did the current marriage end. Anyhow I've been married twice, it has both marriages at the same divorce date. I printed the Page ( which was page 3 ) and refilled the information and reuploaded it with a letter stating that the change was. This isn't something mayor that would cause my case to be resent correct ?
