vts got a reaction from Bd1981 in N-400 Seattle (Part 2)
I had my N400 appt. at Seattle office early morning - was surprised by face 2 face interview with officer instead of remote as others experienced. All went well, we had good conversation while waiting for officer to finish paperwork and schedule for 11am oath. Got  my naturalization cert immediately after oath - long journey and wait for scheduling interview but glad it is all done.

USCIS receives massive federal immigration funds in Omibus spending bill for backlog reduction efforts . The bill has cleared both the senate and house and waiting for the president's signature.

The largely fee-funded U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which threatened to furlough about 70% of its staff in 2020 due to a budget crisis during the pandemic, is set to receive a massive 220% funding spike. Most of that money—about $275 million—would go to reducing backlogs in asylum, refugee and immigration benefit cases, including through hiring and increased overtime.

Thanks PedroDaGr8, appreciate you maintaining excel. Data confirms significant backlog growth for Seattle, which matches anecdotal posts from Oct 2020 applicants still  waiting on interview date. As Jan 2021 applicant, I see my interview slipping further into summer

The USCIS data for 2022Q1 (which is the end of 2021) came out today. I have updated the PNW - N-400 Naturalization History Tracker with this info.

Long story short, Seattle applications continue to stay steady but the backlog keeps rising. The other sites (Spokane, Yakima, and Portland) all seem to show decreasing or unchanging backlogs.
