  1. The marriage licence in Minnesota specifically asked which name I would assume after marriage and stated that if I wanted to change my name at a later date it would have to be done via court?
  2. Thanks. Also, when we married we had to state whether I would change my surname or not for the marriage licence (MN). I chose not to at this time because of additional complications that would have caused professionally in the UK. I know I will need to change it at the court when I finally get to the US. Would I then need a new passport and green card at that time? (Just trying to think long into the future and think I perhaps made the wrong decision at the time of completing the marriage licence!)
  3. Thanks. Would I then upload it in unsolicited evidence? I think the only place they have my current passport info is the I130A?
  4. Hi All, I am the beneficiary of a pending I-130 spousal visa. We're still relatively early in the process. I have 2 years left on my passport and I wasn't planning to renew it during the process as I needed to not be without it for a while for travelling purposes, but I've now got an opportunity to renew it as I won't be travelling for a couple of months. I just want to confirm there are no issues with doing this at this stage? Would I also upload my new passport information to 'Unsolicited evidence' on the USCIS account if it arrives before NVC stage? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi Mil, I'm UK also. We're also at Texas. No AR yet. Praying we can be in the US by next Christmas. 🙏
  6. Hi Luk Dit Mo, Which SC is your application processing at? Is your spouse out of the USA or filing AOS?
  7. So I tried chatting with Emma today, and I asked her for a live agent over and over and over.... and I got stuck in a loop of just being told to check different website places. 😅
  8. It's free, and at least will pass some time! 😅 Although I feel like I haven't seen it help many recent filers like it seemed to have earlier in the year. How did you "ask Emma"? Can you do it in the online chat or do you have to call?
  9. I think most get sent somewhere else straight after from what I've seen. We haven't "asked Emma" yet, we just know our K3 receipt was from Texas. Have you filed K3?
  10. Great, thanks. It seems easier than I thought and would still likely physically get me there sooner, but if it's not until that late I might as well keep the process running here and save the money for I-485 and use the opportunity to fly back for a visit with family also.
  11. Thank you for replying. Although in my case I am not sure it will be the much quicker option as they don't want me to leave my position here until Jul 23 earliest, by which time I should be close to approval here in the UK. Could I keep the process going in the UK and fly back for medical / interview rather than file I-485?
  12. I am the beneficiary of an I-130 spousal visa. I am not currently in the US and quite early into the application process. I work for an international company who are considering transferring me to the US on an L1A visa. Has anyone experienced similar before, and how would this then work for me progressing the I-130 from within the US, rather than consular filing as it is requested presently? Thanks in advance
