    Crossing at POE on IR1

Thank you for your response! One more question - do I need to have a list of belongings I will take with me when I eventually move? Or can I keep taking a few belongings at a time whenever I cross over the next couple of months?
  2. My IR1 was recently issued and I'm planning on crossing at Windsor/Detroit border to activate it before returning to Canada on the same day. 1. Is there any issue if I tell the officer I'm returning the same day if asked? 2. My spouse is here with me in Canada and we plan on crossing together to activate my visa. Is that ok or does my spouse need to be in the US beforehand? 3. Do I need to carry all documents submitted to USCIS and NVC? 4. Do I have to import my car when activating the visa or can I do it another time? Thank you!
  3. I live in Windsor, ON. I opted for home delivery through Purolator. I got tracking number on Friday. I could see updates on the tracking happening even over the weekend.
  4. Yes, I got my passport this morning. You should get yours soon!
  5. Got my tracking number today. Exactly 1 week after interview.
  6. Thanks. I opted for the home delivery through Purolator so it may have to go to a different facility.
  7. My status also changed to Issued on Dec 2 but still no tracking number. Did you get an email with your tracking number?
  8. Hello all, I had my interview on Friday 12/2 and status changed to "Issued" same day. How long does it take on average to get the tracking number after visa is issued? I opted for home delivery via Purolator. Thanks!
  9. Thank you, I should have been clearer. My question is my wife has not filed taxes for the last 3 years since she had no income. However she has been working for the last 3 months in the US and has paystubs/job offer letter for that time. Is that sufficient documentation for I-864 or is it likely they may ask for assets/joint sponsor? At the NVC stage we only showed assets and we don't have a joint sponsor. But I believe Montreal is more strict about spouse moving back and working. We also have rental lease, bank statements, IRA accounts, voting history and kid's kindergarten application. I'm thinking of taking 2 copies of I-864, one with just her income and one with income + assets if they ask for it. Her income is comfortably above the threshold, just the fact that we don't have tax returns for the last 3 years.
  10. Thanks, has anyone changed sponsor to their spouse at the interview stage? At NVC we only showed assets because my wife did not have income. But she has been working a job last 3 months. We have job offer letter and paystubs for that period (no tax returns). Is this sufficient or should be also add our assets? We have no one there who can be our joint sponsor. Thanks!
  11. Hello all, I have my interview coming up soon. Here are the documents I plan to take. Please let me know if anything else is needed: Interview letter Passport + copy 2 passport photos DS-260 confirmation Birth certificate + copy Marriage certificate + copy Certified divorce decree + copy Police certificates + copy Petitioner passport copy Petitioner birth certificate + copy Birth certificate of our son + copy Resume For domicile, at NVC stage we had submitted I-864 showing assets only since my wife was with me in Canada. She has since moved to the US 3 months ago and has secured a job making $57,000. So we are planning on her being the sponsor and showing her income on I-864 instead of assets. Is that enough? We don't have tax returns for last 3 years since she had no income. Documents we have for domicile: Job offer letter Paystubs for the last 2 months Rental agreement with her parents Bank statement IRA statement Kindergarten application for our son at private schools Voting record Thanks!
