  1. Burndown statistics which compares activity from Last Friday to today .... in an earlier post on VJ there was a statment that 100+ cases from Jan 2021 were adjusted into denials. This burndown looks at "Unopened Cases" (i.e. case was received or xxx was updated) changing to RFE or Decision. I don't see this earlier data reported so can only assume it was aged out RFEs that were converted to denials. For the rest of us (especially Dec and Nov cases) the data is not great. down to 10-25% of unopened cases being opened ... lets hope for a little stronger processing next week. Max (previously untouched) cases opened : 45 Occurring week of: 2021-12-31 Total (previously untouched) cases opened : 236 Week.....Was...Now...Delta..Approved..Denied..RFE Prev.......254....240......14...........3...............7.........3 09/03.....16......16.........0............0...............0.........0 09/10.....10......8...........2............1...............0.........1 09/17.....29.....28..........1............1...............0.........0 09/24.....20.....16..........4............3...............0.........1 10/01.....22.....18..........4............1...............0.........3 10/08.....14.....14..........0............0...............0.........0 10/15.....38.....20.........18...........8...............0........10 10/22.....47.....23.........24...........6...............0........17 10/29.....37.....27.........10...........0...............0........10 11/05.....78.....73..........5............1...............0.........4 11/12....114...104........10...........5...............0.........5 11/19.....85.....75.........10...........2...............0.........8 11/26.....56.....40.........16...........3...............1........12 12/03.....61.....57..........4............3...............0.........1 12/10.....86.....66.........20..........11..............0.........9 12/17....100....71.........29..........22..............0.........7 12/24....223...203........20..........16..............0.........4 12/31....209...164........45..........24..............3........18
  2. Day based statistics ... This looks at current state with a little deeper look into "untouched" versus decided. The totals are a little more accurate here as the script accounts for a few more "Untouched" cases than some of my other sctips. 3. My End of the week report looking at Wednesday as compared with Wed from earlier this week. USCIS activity remains very slight ( ) and wishing it would pick up. I have posted a letter to my senator hoping to pressure for RFERs processed faster. See my post on that later On to the raw data: Total activity including "expedite" & "mailed documents" Changes on March 23 2023: 25 Changes on March 24 2023: 39 Changes on March 25 2023: 8 Report of significant changes since 2023_03_22 DEC 1-3: Untouched:29 Approved: 1 Denied: 0 RFE/RFER: 1 RFER->Denial: 0 RFER->Approval: 1 (Counted in stats above) Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 2 Rejected: 0 DEC 6-10: Untouched:66 Approved: 8 Denied: 0 RFE/RFER: 16 RFER->Denial: 0 RFER->Approval: 2 (Counted in stats above) Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 1 Rejected: 0 DEC 13-17: Untouched:71 Approved: 1 Denied: 0 RFE/RFER: 11 RFER->Denial: 0 RFER->Approval: 1 (Counted in stats above) Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 2 Rejected: 0 DEC 20-24: Untouched:205 Approved: 3 Denied: 0 RFE/RFER: 7 RFER->Denial: 0 RFER->Approval: 0 (Counted in stats above) Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 0 Rejected: 0 DEC 27-31: Untouched:164 Approved: 8 Denied: 1 RFE/RFER: 7 RFER->Denial: 0 RFER->Approval: 0 (Counted in stats above) Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 1 Rejected: 0
  4. As having a Brazilian beneficiary, first let me say Oi. (can't say more than that since this is an English only forum) My burndown should show the cases from Feb 2021 as you describe shortly (I do an update every Mon, Wed, Fri and do monitor "Untouched" cases for all of 2021. If those were RFEs then will not see them since "Burndown" is only "Untouched" to "Touched" As for RFEs, I am in the RFER process and will have a report out on this as well. As for total processing, the USCIS shifted from a fairly orderly process in late 2022 to a very indeterministic process as can be seen with my "Burndown" graphs. When they started processing August petitions, there was an increasing number of "cases being left behind" which has only increased through September, October, and November. Oddly, December cases have fewer left behind as even compared with November as of my last report. We (as December) filers are clearly behind the main wave of processing (for unopened cases as well as RFE resolutions). As you can see on by post just above, the waiting for Received RFE returned data is (in some cases) awful. Once upon a time (before my case entered this status), I too thought RFE was a good thing meaning case was being processed. Now, I see it as just as another "wait and see when they do" catagory. Frustrating.
  5. With the average case processing time increasing, I finally pulled the trigger to send a letter to my senator. Specifically, I asked for him (as the Chair of the committee that oversees USCIS) to apply pressure to USCIS to minimize RFER (Rfe responce) to decision time. As of yesterday three were 124 cases in RFER and only 90 decisions previously made Quite a few are 3 weeks to 2 months old. If you are any of these cases, send me a direct message just in case the senators office asks. Would love to use your case (along with mine) to add credence to the complaint. 6. BURNDOWN UPDATE: I had said all cases before 10/22 "were" eligible for a case inquiry, that is no longer true. The adjustment to 16.5 months now means Sept cases can ask but October must wait again. Please pay close attention to Inquiry date or you may have to wait longer (like this latest slip just caused)
  7. Wednesday Burndown (unopened case report) Unlike my other report, this one tracks the activity at USCIS from last Friday (COB) to today. It was intended to see where USCIS was opening cases for the first time. (generally, resulting in a Decision or RFE) My observations on the data. The results for December are better in one way. For cases that are just opened, the majority (>58%) are decided. That abruptly changes in November where if the case is opened, it is far more likely to be issued an RFE. All cases before (and including) 10/22 are eligible for a case inquiry. Decembers case inquiry (if USCIS does not further delay it) is May (your day), 2023. Lets hope that USCIS puts a little more action into our month soon. 8. Wednesday December Case Updates (tracking the changes from Monday) I am one of the many (and increasing number) in the RFER -> Waiting for decision stage. It looks like 27 new cases have joined mine bringing the observed count to 117 waiting for decision. (an update about this will be posted on Friday) This chart as developed treats RFE and RFER identically whereas now it is clear that these are two very different steps. I will continue to use the Burndown, day charts (posted Friday), and RFE status (posted Friday) to help get the best picture possible. Based on the burndown chart, if your case was untouched, then it is still more likey to be decided rather than entering the RFE wait. For those who are with me in the RFE loop, just hoping we get some activity soon. 9. not sure about that "1000" number... other posts said 50% of cases, fixed numbers like this, and more. From my data, there is no rhyme or reason to the process now other than the histogram of activity has spread wider and wider month after month. The result is fewer cases being focused on and overall slower processing on specific date ranges. IF I were to guess, I think they are weighting the processing to manage 80% cases times (and slowly losing ground on that)
  10. Here is Monday's burndown report which considers only untouched cases being opened (looking back into 2022 as well) Reminder, this looks only at a few case types (Case Was Received) to see how many have not been touched at all. As of last Friday (17 Mar 2023 @ ~7pm), there were still 848 cases I have observed as untouched between Jan 1, 2021 and Nov 30, 2021 (ouch) On to the data (as you can see, it is a little all over the place) Total (previously untouched) cases opened : 113 Week.....Was...Now...Delta..Approved..Denied..RFE Prev.......254....251........3...........2...............0.........1 09/03.....16......16.........0............0...............0.........0 09/10.....10.......9..........1............0...............0.........1 09/17.....29......29.........0............0...............0.........0 09/24.....20......17.........3............2...............0.........1 10/01.....22......20.........2............0...............0.........2 10/08.....14......14.........0............0...............0.........0 10/15.....38......21........17...........8...............0.........9 10/22.....47......39.........8............3...............0.........4 10/29.....37......27........10...........0...............0........10 11/05.....78......76.........2............0...............0.........2 11/12....114....113........1............0...............0.........1 11/19.....85......83.........2............0...............0.........2 11/26.....56......42........14...........2...............1........11 12/03.....63......61.........2............2...............0.........0 12/10.....88......86.........2............1...............0.........1 12/17....101.....83........18..........16.............0.........2 12/24....223....211.......12...........8..............0.........4 12/31....211....195.......16..........10.............0.........6
  11. Here is Monday's report (showing activity since Friday) Added yet a new feature to my Mon/Wed/Friday Report. as I am in the RFE (response received) category, I have been curious about how many of the decisions are approvals versus denials as well as how long they take. Sorry, to see how long they take you will need to see another post from me. But notice in the statistics below, there is a new data point RFER>Denial and RFER>Approval Showing the decisions from Request for Evidence Received to either Denial or Approval. 12. my list showed 678 RFEs for December of which 55 were decided (approved or denied) and 111 were pending review RFER .... didn't run any statistics on the remaining 500 RFEs or so.
  13. My Request for Evidence was received (RFER) by USCIS .... Foolishly, I thought that meant it was likely that a quick approval was coming. I got curious as to which day of the week it might happen. So I wrote yet another script. As I studied the data more, I found something rather disturbing. 14. And Finally (last statistics post) for the day ... The Burndown graph. This chart compared activities from the previous Friday to Today looking ONLY at unopened case counts. Note there are subtitle differences in what is considered "unopened" in each of my charts due to differences in when the scripts were written. The main purpose of this chart was initially to estimate when December cases would start to be processed. As stated many times before, the USCIS is very inconsistent as to when they started processing cases as well as when they actually process cases. That said, last Friday there were 993 cases BEFORE December 2021 detected as untouched. Lets hope they continue to process December cases until we are all approved. 17. Yes, was planning on making that part of the Friday Report-out
  18. Wednesdays Burndown Report. Reminder, this report looks for how many untouched cases have been opened from Friday to today. 20. Depends on a number of factors, Just got an update (and will post once approval hits) that says USCIS is moving a touch faster and partly depends on the filer. For example, MY RFER was just opened well after working hours on 3/13 and then dated 3/14 (who hoo). That said, I live two towns away from USCIS (in CA), put my papers in the post office that day using the provided envelope So, would not say 2 months at this point ....
  21. For Burndown data, Monday's update compares previously unopened cases with last Friday 3/10/2023 Overall the case count is good for an RFE day (Saturday) and a working day (Monday) There are still quite a few open cases in December ... so hopefully they maintain focus on our month Total (previously untouched) cases opened : 116 Week.....Was...Now...Delta..Approved..Denied..RFE Prev.......270....270.......0............0...............0.........0 09/03.....17......17.........0............0...............0.........0 09/10.....12......12.........0............0...............0.........0 09/17.....34......33.........1............1...............0.........0 09/24.....25......25.........0............0...............0.........0 10/01.....23......23.........0............0...............0.........0 10/08.....18......17.........1............0...............0.........0 10/15.....62......56.........6............0...............0.........5 10/22.....57......57.........0............0...............0.........0 10/29.....49......47.........2............0...............0.........1 11/05.....86......86.........0............0...............0.........0 11/12....119....118........1............1...............0.........0 11/19....100.....94.........6............6...............0.........0 11/26.....77......74.........3............2...............0.........1 12/03.....89......81.........8............1...............0.........6 12/10....153....135.......18............16...........0.........2 12/17....164....157........7............6..............0.........1 12/24....327....276.......51............37...........0........14 12/31....253....241.......12............7..............0........5
  22. Todays update comparing todays activities with last Fridays (3/10/2023) I also noticed that there were a few cases "re-opened" so I thought I would correct my database with these details. The dates before Mar 10 are therefore "fixes" to cases which were re-opened that I had marked as complete (for one reason or another) On to the data: Changes on January 19 2023: 1 Changes on February 9 2023: 1 Changes on February 13 2023: 1 Changes on February 15 2023: 1 Changes on February 27 2023: 1 Changes on March 9 2023: 2 Changes on March 10 2023: 1 Changes on March 11 2023: 18 Changes on March 13 2023: 86 Changes on March 14 2023: 7 Report of significant changes since 2023_03_10 DEC 1-3: Untouched:44 Approved: 6 Denied: 0 RFE: 4 Updated: 2 Term\Withdrawn: 1 Rejected: 0 DEC 6-10: Untouched:135 Approved: 19 Denied: 0 RFE: 3 Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 0 Rejected: 0 DEC 13-17: Untouched:157 Approved: 8 Denied: 0 RFE: 5 Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 0 Rejected: 0 DEC 20-24: Untouched:276 Approved: 38 Denied: 0 RFE: 16 Updated: 0 Term\Withdrawn: 0 Rejected: 0 DEC 27-31: Untouched:242 Approved: 8 Denied: 0 RFE: 6 Updated: 1 Term\Withdrawn: 0 Rejected: 0
  23. had forgotten her divorce papers in the huge packet ... so they asked for them and I sent them back the same day the letter arrived. Had a funny thought about selling "squares" as to which day the USCIS might "receive" the papers (as they are just two towns over and I am certain the envelope was there Saturday). Won't do it though because any chance the found out that I did could be bad (especially if I won as it might be considered illegal gambling ... lol)
  24. totally unclear how long it takes them to open the letter for RFER .... mine was sent the same day it was received and I live 2 cities away so will document my experience. That seems to be (generally) the biggest time gap and time from RFE to approval is seeming to trend downwards ... might make for an interesting graph at some point.(I.e. RFER to Decision) also notice, USCIS doesn't seem to react well to expedite requests .... do not do one or might add significant time to your case.
