  1. No I meant after the approval, how long does it take to produce and mail the green card to me after approval
  2. Hello everyone, anyone got their GC in NYC? How long does it take to receive the actual green card in NYC? the wait is different from a state to another, someone in Cali said 30 days, but we wanna know how long it takes to receive the GC in hand in New York. thanks in advance 🤍
  3. Does our N400, those based on VAWA GC, go to Vermont SC or does it go to the service centers closer to us?
  4. Hello all, I just paid the immigrant fee, I understand my green card will be mailed to me soon, but when submitting the N400, do I count 2 years 9 months from the day I received the visa, or from the day I enter the US or the day the actual green card gets issued and mailed? Thank you 🙏
  5. Yes after entry, I’ll share my full timeline and my consular interview experience.
  6. Hello family, I just received my passport today and when I checked the visa it says “Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year” I thought VAWA get a 10 year GC! is this just the validity of the visa itself, or is this gonna be the validity of my green card ?
  7. I’ll be here to help with vawa through consular processing and the IB1 visa process, feel free to tag or message me 🤍
  8. Hello family, I’m thrilled to announce that my visa has finally been issued today through consular processing! This was such a difficult journey and I’m happy that it’s finally over 🍀🎉 I’m finally going back home 🇺🇸 Thank you everyone for the knowledge and support ❤️
  9. Makes sense. Thank you for clarifying @Demise
  10. No bigamy isn’t the issue, I was confused about the info regarding divorce and the eligibility to naturalize in a normal divorce or annulment situation not related to bigamy
  11. I thought everyone is eligible to naturalize if the vawa is approved regardless of their marital status with their abuser! Am I wrong?
  12. Yes because 90% of the vawa beneficiaries I know were divorced before their vawa was approved anyway and they are now US citizens. So I was confused by that information. I just wanna know this for sure because I’m still waiting for my green card and also filing for divorce since I don’t know how the annulment works in my situation.
  13. Are you saying if I file the divorce before I submit N-400, I’ll be ineligible for naturalization?
  14. Hi fam, how long did it take for your visa to be issued after the interview?
  15. In How many years + months + days exactly did you apply?
  16. For those filing N400 after VAWA based green card, can we waive the N400 filing fees like the vawa 360 petition? Or the N400 fees cannot be waived?
  17. Thank you fam! Yes for us that did the interview through consular processing was asked about the whole case, the abuse, and all the details. It’s gonna be tough to go through the abuse again but I’m gonna do my best to stay calm. Appreciate you @Stillwinning!!!😊
  18. Hi everyone, I finally received my interview letter. any word of advice for the interview?
  19. Hi everyone for those doing VAWA abroad through consular processing, IB1/F2A visas, we created a telegram group to help each other because it’s a different process than doing AOS in the US. If anyone wanna join, feel free to message me for the group link because I don’t know if it’s allowed to be shared here
  20. Thank you for saying that. I personally went through a traumatic experience on here when I first joined. Some people here have issues and they’re emotionally abusive and cyber bullies. I don’t know why they are on this website claiming to help others when they go on attack when someone doesn’t know what kind of information to provide posting for the first time, instead of asking properly to guide the OP. Reading through this post made me remember when I was attacked here and I know how this OP feels. Most of us with vawa cases are living in fear and trauma we can’t even think and come on here for help because we don’t know anything about immigration or what information we have to provide here. Then they quickly accuse the OP of “gaming the system” or lying about the abuse. Seriously these members should be restricted or removed.
  21. Hi fam, I’ve been preparing for my Ib1 interview abroad, and the pain I have been experiencing seeing my file and the injuries I endured. I know I’m still trying to heal from the trauma I lived. but I’ve been avoiding going back to that trauma. so since the interview done through consular processing at the US embassy abroad mostly have the officer ask about the abuse, I know it’s still a traumatizing sensitive topic and experience for me to think about or remember or talk about. I’m worried about crying during my interview reliving these memories. I’m worried that getting emotional and crying during the interview will have a negative outcome. How do we go about this? Anyone had any experience getting emotional during their interview? I was just going through my case file to print out the important documents, and I cried going through these memories especially the physical injuries. im gonna do my best to stay positive and strong, but it has been a lot of stress for years. any advice, thoughts, or words of encouragement? thank you ~
  22. Congratulations!! What do you mean by 3 questions about “security”? Can you elaborate?
  23. Hi fam! Thanks for sharing your journey as it’s rare to find people who are doing vawa abroad. do you mind sharing your interview experience? What kind of questions did they ask you? I know only 2 people who did it abroad and they said they were interrogated about the abuse and everything in details.
  24. Hi @Jer50 how long did your 601 take from submission to approval?
