Question about international travel
I have international travel coming up in June end (travelling to india) and I booked in Air Canada.
I am Indian citizen which itself require transit visa to travel through Canada and Germany, but a GC holders do not need transit visa. My flight transits through Canada and frankfurt. I have 10 yr green card, so will I be allowed to board in the flight with Indian passport and GC
Last year, I was refused boarding in air Canada (was travelling with Indian passport , expired 2 yr GC and extension letter). In case anyone wondering why I booked air Canada again, they don't refund the ticket money but instead gave me credit which expires this year jun end. Hence again booked in this airlines. As per Canadian official website and German official web site , USA GC holders do not need transit visa.
Called Air Canada helpdesk (after 40 mins wait in queue and they don't have chat service available), service desk person she is not sure and told me to check in Canada embassy in NY. I did verify in embassy site, they don't provide appointments and don't think walk in allowed either. This is so frustrating. If anyone travelled through air Canada with non visa exempt passport and valid GC, pls let me know your experience
Sorry for the long post
