  1. @TonyW just to make sure I understood correctly. You did have a US government as a sponsor, but they never asked for sponsor’s view ?
  2. From what I observed, its usually a month for the recommendation to reach USCIS and another month for the USCIS to send the final decision. did you get a favorable from the DOS?
  3. Hey congrats @TonyW, though I am sorry that it took so long for you Do you mind sharing how long it took the Sponsor to make a decision? I.e when was the request for sponsor views sent and when was the response received ? Also what was the basis for hardship? Was there a citizen child involved ? Thanks a bunch!
  4. hi @Hardship_waiver Thanks for this reply. I am, actually, in the same situation as @j1_nocwaiver Do you happen to remember if the case you referred to above was approved in the end?
  5. Congrats! What a great news. I am very happy for you. Were you a Fulbright student by any chance ?
  6. This one does not look like had a governmental funding. At least no sponsor view request. Is there anything on this case that suggests otherwise ?
  7. I am really sorry to see this happen to you 😢 why would they ask a sponsor’s view, if the sponsor is a foreign agency? Dont they usually ask the internal sponsors ( like Fulbright) ? also if this was a foreign agency, wouldn’t the No Objection be another rout for you?
  8. Oh i meant an email, not an official inquiry. I don't think those cause delay, but, hey, who am I to argue. I don't have a law degree That being said, I can see that this person had the same documents as you and got a Favorable, which means, his case was considered complete. Good luck!
  9. hi @AM820 The processing time may vary. I know of cases that are pending since 2021 and know cases that are fresher than yours, but already got decisions. As a rough estimate I am looking for 15 months at DOS, but again this depends on many things. As for the "other", anything that is not directly asked (i.e passport, DS forms, I-612/613) will fall under the Other category. So some people have it other's don't. I would suggest contacting the email address that WRD has to confirm that they have everything from your end.
  10. Could you please explain what the 212 Finding letter is? Was this sent by the sponsor? Or was this something that you sent to DOS? Thank you!
  11. yeah. It seems like they do have some way of "measuring" a hardship after USCIS forwards the I-613. I thought it was an automatic rejection if there was sponsor involved and an automatic approval otherwise, but seems like it is more involved than that. I see some cases without a sponsor's view being rejected, while others with sponsor's view being approved. I dont know anymore
  12. Two recent Favorable Recommendations (not mine ). Around a year for both.
  13. I still don't understand why should the sponsor views matter, given that the USCIS found a hardship? It appear to me that no matter what the USCIS finds the cases with funding (requiring a sponsor's view) are going to get Not Favorables.
  14. Congrats! I have a similar situation as yours. Just wanted to check, did they ask for sponsor views when you applied with No Objection? That may explain why they did not ask for one again with hardship?
