  1. 1.) The visa expires on February 14th, 2024. 2.) Surname is JAVED 3.) The misspelling on the visa is JAVAD 4.) Nope, it goes from Ankara to Doha to Washington DC
  2. Hi there, We just received our K1 visa on hand and the petitioner's last name had a misspelling on the visa (the last name had an "A" instead of an "E"). We are flying to the United States in 4 days and wanted to know if anyone had a similar situation or any issues at the border. We contacted the Embassy multiple times (calling, emailing, etc.) but we aren't able to get in touch with them. Any help or insight would be highly appreciated.
  3. It’s physical. Usually by DHL. They ship them out 4 times (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), twice a month
  4. You can check your case at the CEAC website. It roughly takes about 2-3 weeks from NVC Left to Case Ready status (it can vary though). Both of us are K1 Fiance Visa petitioners.
  5. I received the same e-mail from the embassy. I sent them my beneficiary's e-mail, but from what I heard from others, they'll be sending them the same link. You're good to go and fill out your DS-160 and try to get an interview scheduled.
  6. I sent the embassy a message and they emailed me they emailed me the K1 instructions. Part of the instructions tell you to go to the AIS US Visa website to register for an appointment. I haven't had luck yet with getting an appointment but I'm building a bot this weekend hopefully and I'll let you know if I have any luck.
  7. Hey everyone, It looks like a lot of us are all in the same boat waiting for appointments at the Ankara, Turkey Embassy. We all get the same message "There are no available appointments at this time." I wanted to start this thread to share tips, updates, and let everyone know when I find an appointment available in hopes of helping others. Best of luck to everyone,
  8. Okay so my case finally went to ready yesterday, so it took about 28 days from NVC Left to Ready at Embassy. You'll probably be ready towards the end of July. Now the final difficult step is getting an interview slot scheduled. Currently, there are no appointments available, but I'll let you know as soon as I am able to get an appointment date.
  9. Any luck getting an interview date yet? I'm working with my brother to build a bot that will check periodically throughout the day and send a message when a date is available. I feel like there's a ton of people waiting with the same issue at the Ankara Embassy. It would be great to get everyone's feedback and updates on appointment availability.
  10. I have a K1 visa that left NVC and has been "In-Transit" status for 26 days now. But from what I'm hearing it takes about roughly 2 months to find an appointment after it reaches the Ankara Embassy.
  11. I would send them a message, it doesn't hurt to ask. Waiting over a month to ship out usually means there's a backlog at your embassy, but it could be another reason. My case has been in transit for 26 days to Turkey (although all last week there was a holiday break), so I understand your frustration and anxiousness.
  12. As soon as you have your case number, you can technically fill out your DS-160. Doing it before for your case is in ready status will have no problems. The only thing you can't do at most embassies is your medical and interview appointment scheduling before your case is ready. Everyone I spoke to already filled out their DS-160 before their case was ready (myself included). Just be sure to take your time and fill it out.
  13. I did complete the DS160, you just submit it and bring the confirmation page to your interview. Ankara doesn't allow a medical until we have an interview date. They specifically say "You can ONLY make an appointment with us using our appointment management system. Please follow the instructions carefully." You can find more information on the Ankara Embassy website: https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/medical-requirements/
  14. I think the best thing to do is talk to a Tier 2 agent, if they don't help out, hang up and try again. Also get your Congress person involved if possible. It varies, based on each embassy location. But from what I've read, its rather quick after its been received and marked as "Ready". I would e-mail your embassy and ask them to e-mail you the packet if possible. I'm still waiting for my case to go from "In Transit" to "Ready". Its been 14 days since it went into Transit.
  15. Reach out to the embassy and wait for their instructions. If you haven't received them, ask the embassy to send them to you. Also, make sure your case shows "Ready" Status and not "In Transit"
  16. Yes, public inquiry via the website. They'll then provide you with a case number and soon as its assigned
  17. You have to wait another 2 weeks, maybe less. Try sending them an inquiry in about 8 days asking for a case number.
  18. Yeah I sent them an email June 9th but they told me they would email me once they received the case. The appointment can’t be done until instructed by embassy. We did fill out the DS120 form, you can do that anytime you have the case number. Feel free to reach out as we got the same embassy
  19. Congratulations! I got the same email on June 8th that it was sent to Ankara. I've heard it takes about 14-17 days for it to be received by the embassy in Ankara. Good luck
  20. Public inquiry is for general questions. The research email is for agents to locate missing petitions, from my understanding
  21. The DS-160 can be filled out anytime. CEAC doesn't have to be in READY status. Not sure about MRV fee. Also, finally got some luck on our end. Our case just got shipped out to the Embassy and we got a "In TRANSIT" status on the CEAC website.
  22. In regards to being sent to the Embassy, they ship every Tuesday/Wednesday (twice a month). (see attachment on shipping dates). Although, some embassies can take longer, so your mileage may vary. When you have a case number, you can check your case with CEAC (be sure to select Immigrant VISA when checking the status). Once its in READY status, you can schedule the interview and pay the MRV fee. For the DS-160, you can fill that out anytime between getting your case number and your interview date. (Make sure your take your time and fill it out as accurately as possible, it takes about 90 minutes or so. Also be sure to save the the application regularly in case of a session time out).
  23. I never got a welcome e-mail at all from NVC. It took weeks from receiving date to get a case number. I expect you'll get a case number next week (be sure to send an inquiry next week). Good luck
  24. It takes about 18-19 days for a case to be created, so that's normal. I'd say give it a week or so and you'll have a case number hopefully
