  1. Thanks for the response @Sandra G. My congresswoman sent an inquiry to the USCIS last week, waiting to hear back. The USCIS Support tells me the case has still not been added to my file. Do you think if I send another package to Vermont, that would hurt the application or cause even more delays? Another query if you could please help me with is I'm planning on travelling home to see my family whom I haven't seen in 5 years for 4-5 weeks, and plan on coming back in the middle of May - my current EAD/AP expires at the end of May. Do you think I might have any issue with the CBP on my way back? I did have a 1st simple DUI case back in 2022 which was settled within months after I paid a $500 fine (No probation etc.), and I have the original Judge's order with me. Do you think there's even a 1% chance CBP can deny me entry into the US? People say if it comes to that don't ever sign anything and ask to see the judge but I'm not sure how that works and what are the repercussions of that. Would really appreciate your help on this as I'm planning to travel within the next 10 days. Thanks a ton.
  2. Thank you. Is this only to get the 'physical copy' of the receipt notice? because my case is not even in the system - they did not have any receipt numbers for me.
  3. How do they reach out to the VSC without any email? Have you done this in the past? would appreciate some more information. Thank you
  4. Hey everybody! Still no updates, called the USCIS again and they said there is still nothing in the system. It's been 35 days since I mailed the renewal package. They asked me to send an email to the USCISmailbox but my understanding is they don't respond emails related to the filings mailed to Service centres. What do you recommend? I'm extremely worried since my current EAD will be expiring at the end of May. Should I ask my Congressman to help? Will it help or should I send a letter to Vermont with another package? but does anyone who how can they reach out the Vermont Service centre since there's no way to get to them via email? How do others go about this? Thank you for reading this and for your help.
  5. Thank you for your advise and help. They received it on Feb 1st, sent it through Fedex to get a proof of delivery. Do you think there are any downsides to sending another package or even just a letter of inquiry to the Vermont Center? or should I just request my congressperson to do that?
  6. Hey everybody, Hope everyone is doing great. I have a situation I could use all your help with - I filed my 765 renewal on January 31st with the Vermont Service Center, I have not received the receipt notice yet. Called the USCIS customer care, and the information agent told me there's no new 765 case uploaded under my name in the system and I should send a letter to the Vermont Service Center. I'm planning on sending a letter along with another 765 package today. My EAD will expire at the end of May, and I'm getting a little nervous so wanted to ask for your advise if I can do anything to help the situation. I got delayed in filing the renewal due to my attorney and filed it in Jan as soon as they gave me a green light. Thank you @Sandra G. @Demise @Rhema1
  7. Thanks! I should receive an RFE because I sent very little evidence of abuse in the beginning. I wanted to send all the evidence I have but my attorney says we should wait for the RFE so we can respond according to the RFE. Any insights on this? "I want to go travel and see my parents but I feel like I'd be taking a risk even with the AP." And I also got a simple dui earlier this year (I wrote about it in detail in an earlier post as to how it happened, something I'm not proud of and my ongoing depression and PTSD contributed to it). I had to pay $500 in fine and the case was disposed of without any probation etc. I don't know if that would affect the travel on AP. Appreciate your advise.
  8. Hey everybody! How long does it usually take for the USCIS to send you an RFE for further evidence once you initially file for VAWA. My concurrent application was filed in December 2021, received my EAD/AP in June 2022, and have received 3 Prima facie's, but no RFE's yet. I want to go travel and see my parents but I feel like I'd be taking a risk even with the AP. Any insights would be deeply appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hi Thank you for your response. Could you please tell more what does that mean? what would be the right path here, not sending anything before the RFE? thanks Also did you or you know of someone who had gotten a dui prior to the approval? thanks
  10. I see what you're saying, getting ahead on it - it makes sense but also my immigration attorney advised we should wait for the RFE before we send the rest of the documents so we can answer and provide them whatever they ask for. Also, they said it's better not to send documents unless USCIS asks for them.
  11. Thank you, my friend. I appreciate you, and your advise. And there's no way I'm getting into a situation like this again. I have letters from my professors, employees, and friends. I'm now thinking of volunteering at different organizations and then get letter from them. If anyone has anything more to add, please do, it would be greatly helpful. These interactions are godsend for all of us on this journey and in this group. Thanks
  12. Really appreciate you putting in all this time and effort in providing the above information. I believe this part comes in when I have an approved 360 and GC application is pending. But I'm not sure how this would affect my pending 360 application. I received my first prima facie back in March and I think soon I'll be receiving an RFE to provide the final evidence. During that time I'm sure they will find out about the DUI and at that point how does that affect my application? since you need to have a good moral character to have 360 approved. Any insights on that would be greatly helpful, and anything I can do to minimize the damage. Thanks
  13. I got a simple DUI first offense conviction. I have been suffering from PTSD and depression for more than a year now and I made the worst decision under the circumstances and I drove while intoxicated. This is my first ever offense and paid a fine of $500. I plead "No Contest" to the charge. My VAWA is pending. This is my first ever offense. There was no other person involved, I had a valid license and there was no baby in the car. I bring up the 3 things because under the stature it says these 3 DUIs are the ones that amount to CIMT and hence establishes lack of GMC. I have always had a good moral character. I am a attorney by profession, graduated from a reputed law school and have taken part in various volunteer activities. Could someone please shed light on this situation, and if they know someone who has been in the same situation? would mean a lot at this point. Also, if someone could tell me what more I can do to help with a good moral character? volunteering at certain organizations etc. Again, means a lot. Thanks! @sandranj @Demise @Rhema1@Stillwinning!!!😊
