  1. Thank you Rhema and Balo! You both are always there to help, much appreciated!
  2. Thank you, yes that is the only offense, fine was paid and the case was closed.
  3. Thank you! yes filed in Jan, 2022 concurrently. Any insights? And no removal proceedings.
  4. Thank you Balo! Yes, filed in Jan, 2022. Concurrently. Any insights on the timeline now, and if the DUI can still be an issue?
  5. Hi everyone, I just wanted to write this to thank everyone who has been helpful to me on this journey, I have also reached out to many of you personally but if in case I missed someone, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank them. My VAWA got approved, and it feels like a mountain has lifted off of my head. For those who are aware with my case, I had a simple DUI charge from 2022 while I was still in an extremely dark place. But ever since the incident, I took significant steps in the last three years, and provided a lot of evidence to the USCIS, and thankfully the case was approved. Again, I'm so very thankful to everyone, who have been helpful not just to me, but every soul on this forum, this group itself is godsend, and the fact that it has helped so many people on this difficult journey, no matter which administration is in power, deserves all the flowers. You all should be extremely proud of the work you're doing. Even though the VAWA application has been approved my I-485 is still pending with no updates which I filed concurrently back in January 2022. I hope it'll move forward soon. It would be really helpful to hear other people's experiences on the same, how long did it take after the VAWA approval, what the interview experience was like? I can't wait to go see my family whom I haven't seen in 7 years now. Also, I wanted to get your thoughts about the DUI, and if it can still be an issue? It was the first offense and I had to pay a fine, there was no incarceration or probation involved. Thank you!
  6. Thanks. And the way you know they took in your I-485 is that they issued you a receipt notice, correct? My lawyer wants me to send in the 693 even without the RFE because she says they changed the policy back in december.
  7. Do people who filed 360+485 before December, 2023 need to send the I-693 to the USCIS before the RFE? They changed the policy in December, 2023 to submit the I-693 with the concurrent filing, but not sure if it applies to the previous filings retroactively. Thank you
  8. Thank you for sharing. I'm sure this gives us all a lot of hope. And hope I speak for everyone when I say we're all very proud of you, and your persistence. God bless!
  9. Thanks a lot @Demise for such a detailed response that is rooted in facts. Really appreciate this. I don't think it'll come to that, but I just wanted to be prepared for the worst as I'm hoping for the best. If I may ask two more things: 1. Is there any downside to sending them additional documents without an RFE? I understand they can get lost and not get to my file, but in that case I'll just get the RFE anyways. Can there be any other downside? 2. Filing another case before the two year period ends on Feb 1st just as a back-up with all my documents - Are there any disadvantages to that? Again, thanks a lot for all your help.
  10. Thanks for that perspective @Demise Any thoughts on this? My other question is based on me being prepared for all the scenarios, and one of the scenarios I want to prepare for is what happens if VAWA is denied and more than two years has passed since the divorce? In my case that would be Feb 1st 2025. Should I ask my lawyer to submit another filing with all the documents just in case since I'm currently eligible to file VAWA and won't be after Feb 1st 2025. What other options does a person have if let's say VAWA gets denied and you're out of window to refile?
  11. Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well and having a nice holiday season. I have a couple of questions that I wanted to ask you all. I submitted my VAWA in Dec 2021, and have received I think around 5 Prima Facie's at this point, and currently I have an EAD/AP doc. I'm hoping to hear back from Vermont soon, and I might be getting an RFE for further evidence because my lawyer had to rush my filing due to urgence and we did not provide a lot of evidence that I had but wasn't in order for proof of abuse. I asked my lawyer back in July 2022 if we shuld send the rest of the documents and she said we should wait until we get an RFE and then submit everything. However, now since they are also intervewing for vawa, would it be better to send in all the evidence before even getting the RFE so they have everything on the file and would help during the interview if one is held? My other question is based on me being prepared for all the scenarios, and one of the scenarios I want to prepare for is what happens if VAWA is denied and more than two years has passed since the divorce? In my case that would be Feb 1st 2025. Should I ask my lawyer to submit another filing with all the documents just in case since I'm currently eligible to file VAWA and won't be after Feb 1st 2025. What other options does a person have if let's say VAWA gets denied and you're out of window to refile? Would really appreciate your help as I'm trying to be ready for all the scenarios even though I know my case is pretty strong, and I have good amount of evidence that we will submit once we get the RFE. Thanks a lot! @Sandra G. @Demise
  12. Thanks for the response @Sandra G. My congresswoman sent an inquiry to the USCIS last week, waiting to hear back. The USCIS Support tells me the case has still not been added to my file. Do you think if I send another package to Vermont, that would hurt the application or cause even more delays? Another query if you could please help me with is I'm planning on travelling home to see my family whom I haven't seen in 5 years for 4-5 weeks, and plan on coming back in the middle of May - my current EAD/AP expires at the end of May. Do you think I might have any issue with the CBP on my way back? I did have a 1st simple DUI case back in 2022 which was settled within months after I paid a $500 fine (No probation etc.), and I have the original Judge's order with me. Do you think there's even a 1% chance CBP can deny me entry into the US? People say if it comes to that don't ever sign anything and ask to see the judge but I'm not sure how that works and what are the repercussions of that. Would really appreciate your help on this as I'm planning to travel within the next 10 days. Thanks a ton.
  13. Thank you. Is this only to get the 'physical copy' of the receipt notice? because my case is not even in the system - they did not have any receipt numbers for me.
  14. How do they reach out to the VSC without any email? Have you done this in the past? would appreciate some more information. Thank you
  15. Hey everybody! Still no updates, called the USCIS again and they said there is still nothing in the system. It's been 35 days since I mailed the renewal package. They asked me to send an email to the USCISmailbox but my understanding is they don't respond emails related to the filings mailed to Service centres. What do you recommend? I'm extremely worried since my current EAD will be expiring at the end of May. Should I ask my Congressman to help? Will it help or should I send a letter to Vermont with another package? but does anyone who how can they reach out the Vermont Service centre since there's no way to get to them via email? How do others go about this? Thank you for reading this and for your help.
  16. Thank you for your advise and help. They received it on Feb 1st, sent it through Fedex to get a proof of delivery. Do you think there are any downsides to sending another package or even just a letter of inquiry to the Vermont Center? or should I just request my congressperson to do that?
  17. Hey everybody, Hope everyone is doing great. I have a situation I could use all your help with - I filed my 765 renewal on January 31st with the Vermont Service Center, I have not received the receipt notice yet. Called the USCIS customer care, and the information agent told me there's no new 765 case uploaded under my name in the system and I should send a letter to the Vermont Service Center. I'm planning on sending a letter along with another 765 package today. My EAD will expire at the end of May, and I'm getting a little nervous so wanted to ask for your advise if I can do anything to help the situation. I got delayed in filing the renewal due to my attorney and filed it in Jan as soon as they gave me a green light. Thank you @Sandra G. @Demise @Rhema1
