My timeline is: Applied: May 2022 Case approved by USCIS: May 2023 Interview: July 2023 DS5535 sent: July 2023 Congressperson Inquiry to Montreal embassy: Oct 10, 2024 Medical and passport request: Oct 11, 2024 Passport delivered: Oct 12, 2024 Medical delivered: Oct 25, 2023 Status changed to issued: Oct 31, 2024 All the best 🙏🏻

With everyone's positive feedback about contacting their congressperson, I also reached out to mine earlier this week. They asked us to fill out a basic information form so they could represent our case. Today, we received the long-awaited email requesting medical records, passport, and photos. Interview Date: July 2023

Yes, I received one on Sept 18th.

My DS-260 was open the entire time i beleive. I did make changes to it earlier this year as I had to renew my passport so resubmitted with new number and expire date.

Interview July 21st,2023 still nothing on our end either.

Follow up with the same email you originally sent. They responded within 2 hours(to my follow up email) saying they have returned the passport, and followed by the tracking number from courier agency. Received my passport day after this. Clearly they ignored my request the first time...

If your decision is to have your passport returned without an immigrant visa at this time, please email us using this email address(Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov) with “Passport Return – YOURCASENUMBER” in the subject line. The passport will then be returned to you by courier services to a Canada Post office of your choice. In order to select a Canada Post office location and to track the return of your passport please contact the Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service using the contact details here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv/information/contact_us NOTE: Your passport will be mailed out only after we receive your confirmation that you want it returned without the immigrant visa I received in 3 days after i sent them email, also depends where you requested to have it returned. In my case i paid for delivery at my home, as i dont live near major city.

I requested my passport back after waiting 4 months with no change in my status..Unfortunately i do need my passport for work. No issues travelling(via Road and Flight) to USA and back with Nexus only. Hoping to see any updates to re-send my passport again, but not holding my breath for it.

No, all the documents were requested back on July 20th. Police Certificate i was able to get that in 2 weeks from RCMP Proof of Domicile i had more to provide right away My passport was the only one i wasn't ready to surrender, as I travel to the USA very frequently for work. So finally i found a dead spot in my schedule where I can afford not to travel for 6-8 weeks.

Just came across this thread, as we are in the same process now. Interviewed(Montreal) on July 20, 2023. Refused but asked to provide the following 1. DS-5535(via MS Forms) - Submitted July 20th, no receipt/acknowledgement that was it submitted. Is this normal? 2. Police Certificate - We just had the wrong one at the time of the interview. Re-sent Dec 6, 2023 3. Proof of Domicile - Gathered more than what was provided already. Re-sent Dec 6, 2023 4. Passport- Due to the travelling nature of my job only downtime I have is during holidays so waited to Resend Dec 6, 2023 Last update Dec 19th-Refused. Hoping to see the light at the end of this dark tunnel. Does anyone know how long they usually keep the passport with them?
