I got the following message after getting a message saying I was DQ'd
The income reported is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos and https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household members and joint sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: * Other income * Assets * Proof of current employment Note: You submitted documentation to the National Visa Center through the Consular Electronic Application Center CEAC. You can continue to upload documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview.\
My understanding is this does not mean that the interview will not be scheduled and I just need to bring additional documents to the interview.
But I am a bit confused on why I got this message. When I researched this matter here on Visajourney, it seems like people who get this message tend to have lower than threshold income for the latest tax return. But I have higher than threshold income for the latest tax return.
Could it be because latest tax return submitted was for tax year 2022, not 2023? I submitted I864 in early May and I did not have 2023 tax return as I had not submitted it yet (just filed it too late).
If so, if my wife brings 2023 tax to the interview (and I upload it to CEAC when I get it), would that be sufficient? What if I don't get the return by the interview date? Would I get rejected then?
I did upload last six months of paystub and the employment verification letter.
