  1. So I am not required to transfer my interview outside of Italy even though we are not registered in Italy anymore?
  2. I see, so I guess we can't even request the interview to be moved to Germany until the interview date with Naples embassy has been set? But even when the interview date with Naples embassy is set, are we required to request it to be moved to Germany or can we just do it in Italy?
  3. My wife is the beneficiary. I believe the case was already sent to the Naples consulate since I was DQ'd (let me know if that's not how it works). Do you think we have to request it to be moved to a german consular? If we do not have to, we would like to keep it in Italy to avoid confusion and possible delays.
  4. When we started the marriage green card application, we were residing in Italy. My wife is a German citizen. We moved to Germany after we were DQ'd, with our application sent to the Naples embassy. She established her residency in Germany recently. Are we required to request for our interview transfer from Italy to Germany? If we are not, we would like to not do so. Thank you!
  5. I got the following message after getting a message saying I was DQ'd The income reported is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos and https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household members and joint sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: * Other income * Assets * Proof of current employment Note: You submitted documentation to the National Visa Center through the Consular Electronic Application Center CEAC. You can continue to upload documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview.\ My understanding is this does not mean that the interview will not be scheduled and I just need to bring additional documents to the interview. But I am a bit confused on why I got this message. When I researched this matter here on Visajourney, it seems like people who get this message tend to have lower than threshold income for the latest tax return. But I have higher than threshold income for the latest tax return. Could it be because latest tax return submitted was for tax year 2022, not 2023? I submitted I864 in early May and I did not have 2023 tax return as I had not submitted it yet (just filed it too late). If so, if my wife brings 2023 tax to the interview (and I upload it to CEAC when I get it), would that be sufficient? What if I don't get the return by the interview date? Would I get rejected then? I did upload last six months of paystub and the employment verification letter.
  6. Just wanted to give an update for people who ended up having the same issue: It all went through and I was DQ'd
  7. Okay, thank you so much. I am panicking (slightly) less now 😀 Is it possible to contact NVC and have this be deleted? Not sure if it's possible and if it's actually recommended. I don't want to create more confusion.
  8. Hi everyone, I've made a really really dumb mistake where I've created a letter of intent to domicile, stated that I am moving back with my wife in several sentences in that letter, and had the last sentence state that I am moving with my husband my children. It's because I was using a form that I found online. I've already submitted this. I've corrected the typo and submitted a new one right away, with an explanation in comments stating the mistake. Do you think I would get an RFE for this? What do you think I should do? Maybe I can contact NVC and have them delete the first document?
