When your EAD was approved, did the case status changed on AP?
We did not expedite but the website says case closed and card being produced (on EAD) and nothing on AP. It still says we are reviewing your application.
Even the i765 notice in the document is saved as standalone approval of i765 😏
So I am wondering if it's juts going to be EAD or combo? We filed for combo. No expedite.
No, the case status on the Case Tracker app didn't change for AP when we got approved for EAD. However, when logged into our USCIS account, it said case closed next to AP, no approval was mentioned there. We expedited. Combo card arrived soon after. AP still says it is being actively reviewed even though we have the combo card.

We got ead and ap approval this morning, but it was back dated to Aug 10th. I even check uscis site yesterday. Approved same date so I wonder if it will be a combo card. I feel like I've seen a few lately. 😊 How long does most seem to take to go from approved to card in hand? Thanks!!
Congrats! We got the combo card and it was about a week from approval to having the card in hand

What kind of financial hardship proof can we provide? I am confuse.
Maybe past due bills? I am not sure, we had a job offer on the table so that is why we expedited. I’m sure there is a thread on here showing what you can provide.

Sure. I just tried thru Emma. I asked if I could talk to a Live Agent and explained my situation.
We'll give it a try! Thank you for the info and congrats to you!

No, but I was applying for a license to practice. I’m in healthcare. I cited their announcement that we can expedite if we’re in the field, and that I needed an ead and a valid ssn in order to progress towards my license. They didn’t ask me for anything, but I did have correspondence with our state board regarding my situation as well as the necessary paperwork they would have needed from me just in case.
Good to know. Can I ask where you filled out the expedite request? My husband is an electrician but his license isn't recognized here so he wanted to start a new training but will have to work in order to do so. Maybe we can apply for one too.

Correct! EAD appears still as "we registered your biometrics" or something, AP hasn't gotten any updates since the NOA1 but they are trying to schedule the green card interview... Whatever it's fine with them i suppose ahah
LOL i agree! I hope your interview is scheduled for soon and all goes smoothly! 😃

Weird, right? I was expecting to wait eons considering that people who applied only ten days before me got their EAD already in like one month, but it took two weeks for USCIS to send me at least the NOA1, and two months for the biometrics. But I'm still keeping my hopes low, who knows how long will take before the actual interview now!
Very weird? So they haven't sent your EAD but they are scheduling an interview?? USCIS never ceases to amaze me!

Yay, today I got the notification that interview is ready to be scheduled! So I would guess that now I only have to wait and check the mail box obsessively everyday till the notice arrives 😅
The AOS interview? Wow, that was quick!!

Me and my fiancé are getting married this month in the court. My fiancé is on k1 visa. Of course she does not have social security yet.
Questions:
1. When can she apply for social security?
2. Does she have to file her green card forms as soon as she gets married or can she wait to apply later (we did not prepare any forms yet). I don't even know how many forms we need to file yet.
Any recommendations is appreciated
My husband was K-1 too and applied for his social security number as soon as we got back from the honeymoon. He received it within like two weeks. I definitely recommend applying for it right after your marriage. Otherwise, you will be waiting awhile if you apply for it with the AOS.
You can wait on the AOS forms, but I don't see any benefits to waiting as the wait times for an employment authorization are high. There is an AOS thread that tells you all the forms you need to file. Very helpful!

We went to the local office before! Got the SSN within 2 weeks after that!
USCIS New Fees - AOS process
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
From what I have read, there will be separate fees for each of those documents -- the i-485, i-131, i-765. The I-485 is supposed to significantly increase by about $500 and you might be looking at paying an additional $500-600 for each the I-131 and the I-765. Of course, nothing has gone into effect yet, they are hearing public comments for the next 60 days.
