  1. This whole post sounds like an antivax rant, is this a real account?
  2. We just supplied a bunch of photos, no context, and they were scanned in for the application
  3. Just have your husband use his card a few times so both cards show up on the statement. This is a very easy fix. Absolutely do not call that banker or go in, you do not need a letter from the bank. In fact I would report this person to the bank.
  4. Like the previous admin was a paragon of efficiency…
  5. Don’t overthink it, just write exactly what is in the birth certificate and if the form says to PRINT your answers then do that
  6. Deadly serious 😂, people trying to help will look at your profile etc and the harder someone makes it to help them, the less helpful responses can be…
  7. Do not include any receipts like this of any sort, it’s nobody’s business
  8. Looking through the process to go from driving here for a year on your original home country license to a US license just seems so crazy. Do we really have to get a physical, an eye test, a learners permit etc? Has anyone done this recently? Was this your experience too or am I being fed wrong information? Thanks!
  9. Back in 2002 when I applied for spousal visa I had to go to London for the visa interview even though there is the US embassy in Belfast. It’s been a while but I’d be surprised if it’s changed. Your fiancé could call up the US embassy in Belfast and ask them probably.
  10. It took me 15 months to go from NOA1 to NOA2, you’re 4 months in. I hope the processing times have really improved that much.
  11. My wife had a J1 visa and all our reading said it would be virtually impossible to get a waiver, I’d gear up for her to show two years in her home country from when she returned, which is what my wife did.
  12. As someone else said, this is a month after you had a fiancée? Maybe you’re rushing into this…
  13. I recommend reading this https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-618.pdf It’s titled “Welcome to the United States A Guide for New Immigrants”
  14. I’m glad my wife didn’t care to change her name and I don’t care if her last name is different than mine. Avoids a lot of problems…if your wife doesn’t care if your names match I’d definitely just skip all this hassle
  15. Have you looked at the guide? It spelled everything out for me
  16. Your best bet is to join the thread for your k1 receipt date and you’ll see periodic updates there. There’s not enough people putting their timelines in for a decent estimate, and then of course there’s thousands of people not using this website so their processing times don’t get included in the estimate. From what I read though the times are getting better from when my wife was in k1. Good luck!
  17. I recommend reading the guide to US Immigrants on this page https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/civic-integration/settling-in-the-us
  18. Any federal employee clicking an external link like that would get a stern talking to
  19. Imagine going through all the stress of the K1 during a pandemic to get here and then your fiancé pulls a move like that, I’m not sure it’s worth continuing with this relationship. If he’s like this now, what happens when there are other things to get stressed about or argue over. Right now you’re looking at months of unemployment if you through with the marriage.
  20. I wonder about this as other people in the group I was in (July 2023 filers for I-485) were getting processed quickly too
  21. Look at my timeline, wife got her work permit in less than a month and her green card in about three months after we got married in July of this year.
