I received 3 text messages with a different case number each. I assume they are for AOS (I-864/medical), Affidavit of Support (I-864), and last one for either the EAD or Parole I-131? But I tried all 3 numbers and received the same error message. Should I also received separate numbers for the I-131 and EAD?

I attempted to add the cases to my case (I-130/A) but recived an error message. Does the immigrant applicant need to open her own USCIS account in order to keep visibility of the process, submit evidence, receive notifications? See screenshot below. Thanks!

While I understand USA takes in more migrants than any other nation, it’s still inexcusable to make families wait years while some get ahead of the line privileges by skipping the line. Yes spouse with me, kid abroad; and I dropped the 130/130A online 2 weeks ago and got receipt. Putting final touches on AOS package. However, forms 130A (i think?) and I-485 part 6 asks about any and all children and on Question 6 asks"is this child applying with you"

All, I could not find an answer to this question so sorry if it's redundant. *Background- Filing AOS for spouse , package almost complete. I-130/130-A sent electronically recently so still within window for concurrent filing of AOS. My stepchild (Minor under-18) is still abroad and will remain overseas during the IR/CR-1 process but must be physically in USA before her 18th birthday so my military/veterans/social security disability benefits kick in for her. (More on this later). That's 16 months from now. I realize Ankara has a long interview wait list and this is why I don't want to wait for my spouses AOS process to finish before starting my stepchild's. Q1. Is there a way to simultaneously apply for both my spouse AOS and stepchild CR/IR-1 even thought the processes will be totally different? Q2. Are there any advantages or disadvantages of doing so? (Cost/time/effort/etc). Q3. Has anyone on this forum ever done this? Thank you all for your responses.

So we went to the Medical Exam two days ago. Were given a couple of forms and had a long wait (1.5 hours) to see the doctor. One we got inside her office, the secretary had us fill out sections 1-5 of form I-693 on an open computer screen. Once we finished she called the doctor, a very nice Indian lady. She was very engaging and we instantly connected because she had been to Istanbul and to San Juan (where I am from). We swapped some travel stories while she was filling out the form. Doctor asked my wife about vaccination history, disease history, current medication, problems, etc. I allowed my wife to communicate with the doctor directly and she did fine except 3-4 questions she did not know so I interpreted for both of them. Doctor then asked my wife lay down on the examination table, touched her neck nodes, stomach, took her blood pressure, listened to her heart and lungs, etc (normal basic medical exam). Doctor then ordered 4 lab samples for antibodies (MMR/Tetanus?/Varicella/HepB) and Rx'ed two vaccines (Flu and TDap?) but told us to wait until lab results come back in case we need to get a vaccine for one of the four sampled antibodies. Saves us the extra trip to my HMO to get vaccines and one less insurance paper to fill out. I did have to read and translate questions on the form for my wife, so I signed as interpreter and preparer. Concensus is this is not damaging in any way, so no big deal. Thanks to everyone that chimed in when I posted my questions a few days ago. This gave me confidence and made me realize I was overthinking the medical exam and interpreter issue. As soon as we get the signed and sealed envelope I-693 form from the doctor's office, we will ship the AOS package. I already have supporting documents translated, and/or notarized, and/or apostilled and printed.

We communicate in combination of english/turkish and google translate when impatience starts building. 😂 I did find a different civil surgeon that speaks turkish but has no openings until 3 weeks from now. I think we may wait to make sure we get this right the first time. cheers. I guess I'll see what happens during the exam.

Thanks for your quick response. I will pay for an interpreter if necessary, but the issue is the wet signature required on the form. How to accomplish that task with a remote interpreter? Yes I will be present with her, but my Turkish is elementary at best and I will have to rely on Google translate too much, and I'm afraid the MD will call foul. I will translate the form for her to have on hand during the interview. I have read a couple of reviews here where doctors overseas and in CONUS did ask to check genitals to verify gender. I chose a female doctor specifically... Nowadays with the dozens of new genders and "...I identify as..." movement, I feel sorry for these MDs. =0) Just for the sake of argument, I found the following laws and regs stating that any hospital, HMO, doctor, etc receiving federal funding (basically 99% of health care organizations receive Medicare and Medicaid funding, so they qualify) have an obligation to provide interpreters AND translators for patients and CANNOT require the patient to produce one. Even more so, ACA Section 1557 specifically prohibits family members from acting as interpreters. Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities by places of public accommodation. 42 U.S.C. Š 12181 - Š 12189. Private health care providers are considered places of public accommodation. The Department of Justice has issued regulations for the obligations of public accommodations under Title III at 28 C.F.R. Ok, I searched for this particular question and could not find it here. I scheduled the medical examination for my spouse and the civil surgeon's office says that they do NOT provide an interpreter. I know this is in violation of The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Executive Order 13166, and Title II of American for Disabilities Act. Before I call them out on this and create an unfriendly environment pre-visit, I need to ask the group the following: 1. Even if the civil surgeon provides an interpreter, it would be a remote over-the-phone session BUT form I-693 instructions state that the interpreter must sign and date the form. How can a remote interpreter sign the form? I did get two quotes for $260/hour and another for $100/hr. but if they cannot sign the form and USCIS will reject it, why bother? 2. If i were to find an interpreter to come in person, would he/she need to be inside the room? I have read that some doctors check breast, genitals, etc. Sounds a little uncomfortable. 3. Assuming my spouse can't produce vaccination records, which vaccines will she be required to get? I was told TDAP/MMR/VARICELLA/HEP B/FLU/COVID, but want to confirm. 4. How long did you all wait for lab /x ray results before picking up the sealed copy? Thanks so much for your help.

It has been a few months but this is the most recent threat on the PDF issues when filling out I-864. I am using official Adobe Acrobat Reader downloaded directly from the USCIS website and following the instructions to the letter and I am getting the same errors. I also tried a third party software (PDF Reader Pro Lite) to discard problems with Adobe's version. I have a Mac Air M1 running Ventura (OS 13.4.1) with the latest upgrades so my hardware is not the issue. Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size. The first question: Persons you are sponsoring on this affidavit; Provide the number you entered in Part 3, 29. Error- unable to select and write anything in the box. Last question (8). Add together Part 5, 1-7, and enter number here: Unable to select box and fill in. I have one extra dependent and when I filled in the box in question 4, the total in block 8 did not change automatically as some have said it would/should. I am only trying this form to get familiarized with the ecosystem and all the possible forms we may need in the future (wargaming) and not necessarily reflecting what we'll pursuit. I also had a bit of a problem with the I-130A. What Gives?
