Hi there! My husband arrived in the US on July 2, 2023 with his K-1 visa. We married on September 6, 2023. We were approved for an apartment just recently and our move in date is in 3 days (September 23). We have finally finished preparing our AOS packet including my husband's I-485 form, I-864 form, I-765 form, & I-131 form + supporting documents today. To avoid having to mail in a change of address form to USCIS after we move into our new apartment in just a few days, we wanted to see if changing all the form sections asking for our "Current Address" to our new apartment address would be acceptable or would that just cause further confusion? Each cover letter of the packet also lists our new address in the letterhead as well. We don't want to cause any issues and just thought we'd see what the best option would be. We could also attach our lease with both of our names and move in date to the packet as well if this would help USCIS understand our situation.

Okay, didn’t know if it was just the way I worded things but yeah, I’m in the same boat. I’ve tried contacting USCIS and NVC and they just keep saying the same thing. The NVC said they’ll try to locate our petition but I doubt we’ll hear anything regarding that matter.. it’s already been a few weeks since. USCIS is now telling us to wait 90 days for our petition to be mailed to the NVC before we contact them again. It’s all very nerveracking.

My fiancé and I recieved our NOA2 on 2/22. We still have not received any notification from the NVC that our petition has been recieved and we have not yet recieved our case number. We have submitted a few inquiries to the NVC to check for an update and we received the same message each time, informing us know that it can take up to 6 weeks to receive a petition. On the NVC website, it's listed that they are now processing cases that were received on 4/14. We are worried because it has been more than 2 months from our approval date. We also know that our petition will expire after a certain amount of time which is another factor we are worried about. Is anyone experiencing the same delays?

We did provide letters of intent to marry with the original petition that was sent in but they need further proof that we have an actual intent to marry. Nope, we both signed each of our statements and mentioned marrying in the 90 days upon approval. I thought it was odd too.

It’s okay for my fiancé to be the one to write the letter even though his father is the one signing it?

My fiancé is from South Korea and we are working on submitting additional evidence for the RFE we received. His dad hand wrote a letter supporting our relationship to submit to USCIS along with a few other documents. My fiancé speaks Korean, of course, but he does know a good amount of English. I know that whenever we submit a document in a foreign language, this document has to be translated. Is it okay if my fiancé translates my father in law’s letter and we submit that translated document along with the photocopy of the hand written letter? I read somewhere that whoever translates any document in a foreign language has to certify the translation is complete and accurate. How would he certify this? Does he just have to submit another document stating that the translated document is complete and accurate? Is he even allowed to be the one to translate the letter or does this have to be translated by a professional?

My fiancé and I received our RFE reasoning in the mail today. I attached the RFE to this post. My fiancé and I submitted letters of intent to marry but we didn’t provide enough proof of our intent. In the examples provided, they said we can submit proof of subsequent meetings and ongoing communications. I am currently in South Korea with him and have met his dad. I will be meeting his sister too. Does this mean we can submit pictures/text messages of our current trip to support our proof of relationship? I thought USCIS only wanted proof of relationship within the 2 years of filing the petition. 1. Can we submit photos of our current trip together in South Korea? (Pictures with the beneficiary’s dad, pictures with his sister, and of our trip in general together) 2. He proposed to me in Colorado back in February 2022. We have pictures of our engagement right after he proposed (pictures of us together holding up my engagement ring). Would this be good evidence to submit? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! We want to make sure to submit the correct evidence so we can avoid any further issues/delays with our petition. Thank you!
