♦️ CASE NUMBER CREATION DATE ♦️ The case numbers generated in NVC follow a specific pattern, and it is possible to find out the date of creation of your case through it. The case number can be broken down as follows: AAA - 0000 - 111 - 222 - The three letters indicate the consulate where the case will be sent - The first 4 numbers are the year of creation of the case - The next 3 numbers represent the “Julian date” shown in the calendar below, added to 500 - The last 3 numbers represent the sequential order in which the case was created. Example: RDJ2021501020 RDJ - 2021 - 501 - 020 - RDJ: Rio De Janeiro - 2021: case created in 2021 - 501: Julian date + 500, that is, in this case the Julian date is 1 - 020: twentieth case to be created. Looking at the calendar, Julian date 1 means the case was created on 01/01. There is a Julian Calendar for each year, so use the right calendar to do the math. (But it is basically the day of the year. E.g.: 01/31 is the 31st day of the year, 11/31 is the 333 day of the year).

They do send information when your case physically got there (packet 3). But as soon as you have the ready status, you should go and schedule the interview. You don’t need your case number to fill ds160. And with the case number you can already create the CEAC account. “Ready” status you can pay & schedule the interview and reach out to doctor to schedule the appointment.

Omg I loved this 😂😂 I sent an expedite request today after I received my case number. I wish they approve it but I think it will only happen once it has the ready status. Also, where did you see when the case was created? I’m looking at CEAC but it does not give me a date yet. Only says it is AT NVC my NOA2 in the app says 09/13. But I use 09/09 cause that’s what’s in the letter.

Yeah, I was hoping NVC was faster than USCIS but it seems they are as disorganized as them. yeah… as soon NVC told me they had my case, I just didn’t even thought about USCIS anymore 😂. They are too lazy and too disorganized to know anything lol. Just focus on the date you have from NVC. Yes. Almost 90 days to get a case number sounds absurd. That’s why I’m hopeful that next shipping it will be our time to shine 😂✨

Yes! I was afraid that my case was the only one who got this funny change in the app. 😮💨 yeah, it seems that we will be together on this lol and yes, NVC case creation times are only increasing (39 days currently). lets see what tomorrow's updates will bring. USCIS told me that my case was in transit on 10/07 (couple of agents confirm that trough the phone). And I got more than one email & inquiry answer confirming that my case got in NVC at 10/20 (maybe 5 or 6 confirmations). I think you can stick with 10/21 for the NVC arrival date as it is that what NVC is telling you. You can try to do an ombudsman’s inquiry if you want that specific date of the shipment. But having the NVC received date I think is enough for you.
