  1. are you sure the oath ceremony will be at the Hatfield U.S. Courthouse?? i thought they did oath ceremony at the USCIS field center. when my wife had here n400 interview on Oct 8, they were doing oath ceremony on that date. the USCIS field address is: 1455 NW Overton St #1, Portland, OR 97209
  2. long story short, wife's n400 got approved, she had her interview early October and that got approved too, so we are waiting for her oath ceremony date to be scheduled. so far we waited 3 weeks and still nothing. we just found out her mother is very sick and we need to go back to her home country. does anyone know how to Expedite Oath Ceremony? is there a paper work we need to fill out, or do we need to call someone? this is for the Portland Oregon field office thanks
  3. does that apply to booking a 1 way flight (from US to her home country) too????
  4. after my wife gets hers citizenship and USA passport, we plan on traveling to her home country. she will also do a name change during the ceremony. when i buy the plane ticket for her once she has her USA passport, do i buy the plane ticket with her home country passport??? her home country requires visas for non citizens, so it will be easier to use her home country passport, rather than USA passport. and when we arrive back to the US, she will just show her USA passport at the port of entry, correct??? similar to what a greencard holder will do. is this the correct way to do it?
  5. if the interview falls BEFORE the 5 year green card anniversary date, then the case will be denied..... you will have to end up doing 2 interviews... the immigration officer can NOT approve your case until AFTER the green card anniversary date dont party just yet...
  6. when is your wife's 3 or 5 year anniversary date?? if the interview falls BEFORE the green card anniversary date, then the case will be denied..... you will have to end up doing 2 interviews.
  7. my wife already applied for n400 and they did biometric reuse. we dont know how long it is going to take until the interview date. whether 3,4,5 or 6 months. she already has her 10 year green card and we want to travel to her home country for 4-5 months. that being said, if she gets the interview notice, can she have her N400 Interview / Citizenship interview at the embassy in her home country? i do know for a fact that US embassies overseas issue USA passports, so she can also get her USA passport there too, once she passes the test. that being said, does USCIS do this???
  8. At the N400 Interview, is it common for the officer to ask this question: "why do you want to become a US citizen". If yes, i am thinking that this would be a good answer: "I want to become a US citizen because a US citizen has a lot of freedoms that in mentioned in the US Constitution. Such as freedom of speech and right to bear arms. I also want to vote too."
  9. i am trying to fill out the N400 form online, but on the "where you lived section", it wont let me type in "present". i have lived at the same exact address since i moved to the US in 2020. i have not lived anywhere else. how do i do this section? see pic thanks
  10. After my wife has Interview, Test and Same Day Oath (all on the same day), lets say April 29 2024. Can she apply for USA passport on the same day (April 29 2024)? We want to travel ASAP right after the interview and oath. Will the proper paper work be given to her on the same day which will be needed to apply for USA passport? This will be at the Portland Oregon field office BTW
