  1. Thank you for your input. Let me provide some clarification about my situation: Documentarily Qualified: All three cases are documentarily qualified. The qualification dates are as follows: Son 01: August 23, 2023 Son 02: August 28, 2023 Daughter: September 25, 2023 Interview Appointments: You’re correct that IR cases typically have interviews scheduled automatically. However, in this situation, I received NVC appointment letters and was instructed to schedule interviews through AIS for specific dates. Unfortunately, a month before the scheduled interviews, I received emails stating: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time." It has now been over a year since those interviews were canceled, and I haven’t received any updates. According to The U.S. Embassy’s website (https://ca.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visa-process/), Immediate Relative cases being scheduled for interviews were documentarily qualified in August 2024. However, my cases were documentarily qualified in 2023, which means the interviews should have been scheduled by now, yet no progress has been made. Daughter's Case: For my daughter, I received the NVC appointment letter on June 3, 2024, to book an interview scheduled for February 6, 2024, at 07:45 AM. Despite receiving this letter and following all instructions, I’ve been unable to book her appointment. The system continues to display the message: "The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment." Recent Updates: For some time, when trying to schedule appointments through AIS, I kept encountering the message "System is busy." However, just a week ago, I was finally able to book appointments for Son 01 and Son 02 for February. Current Issue: I’m still unable to schedule an appointment for my daughter. The system continues to display the message: "The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment." Summary of Key Dates: Son 01: Documentarily Qualified: August 23, 2023 Interview Appointment Canceled: December 18, 2023 Son 02: Documentarily Qualified: August 28, 2023 Interview Appointment Canceled: December 18, 2023 Daughter: Documentarily Qualified: September 25, 2023 Interview Appointment Canceled: July 12, 2024 Case Category in CEAC: All three cases are classified under the IR-2 category. I hope this clarifies the situation. Any additional insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Hi everyone, Out of three IR-2 cases for my children, I successfully scheduled appointments for two of them. However, I’m still facing an issue with scheduling an appointment for my third child. Despite following all instructions, the system continues to display the message: "The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment." I received the National Visa Center (NVC) appointment letter on June 3, 2024, which was over six months ago. I’ve tried multiple times and even reached out to AIS (which hasn’t been helpful), but the issue remains unresolved. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or have any suggestions on what else I can do to resolve this? I’ll share any updates I receive from AIS. Thank you for your help!
  4. Hi everyone, finally i was able to scheduled the immigrant visa appointments for two of my children under the IR-2 (Immediate Relative) category. After scheduling, I received an email with the following instruction: "Before traveling to your consular appointment, please check the Department of State Visa Bulletin to confirm that your priority date is still current." Since IR-2 falls under the Immediate Relative category and is not subject to priority dates or the Visa Bulletin, I believe this requirement doesn’t apply to us. Can someone confirm if this is correct? Thank you for your guidance!
  5. I wanted to share an update regarding my recent efforts to get some clarity on the delay with my IR2 visa applications. I sent emails to the following addresses: Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com montreal-iv-dv@state.gov NVCInquiry@state.gov I received a response from canada.visas@gdit-gss.com, but they informed me that this email is only for non-immigrant visa appointment scheduling. They advised me to contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate directly. I’m wondering if anyone has had success contacting the U.S. Consulate in Montreal using montreal-iv-dv@state.gov or the NVC at NVCInquiry@state.gov. Also, is there any other email address or contact method you’d recommend? I appreciate any input or advice you can share!
  6. this is what i am about to email them let see if i am going to get any response "Subject: Urgent Inquiry About IR2 Visa Application Delay – MTL********** Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my concern regarding the unexplained and prolonged delay in processing my daughter (Name) IR2 immigrant visa application. Her interview, originally scheduled for February 6, 2024, at 7:45 AM, was canceled, and since then, we have received no updates or progress on her case. Applicant Details: Principal Applicant Name: Daughter Name NVC Case Number: MTL********** Invoice ID Number: IVSCA00000000000 A #: ********** Documentarily Qualified Date: September 25, 2023 On June 3, 2024, we received an email notifying us of her Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment. However, when we attempted to schedule the appointment on the website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/), we encountered the following error message: "The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment." This issue has persisted since then, and we do not understand why we are unable to book an appointment despite receiving the email. As outlined on your website (Immigrant Visa Process), the expected processing timeline for immediate relatives is 3-4 months. It has now been over 12 months since the case was documentarily qualified, and we remain without communication or progress on her case. We previously sent an inquiry via email on August 1, 2024, but have not received any response. We are deeply concerned about the lack of updates and clarity regarding this delay. Could you please confirm the current status of her case, clarify the reason for the inability to schedule the appointment, and provide an explanation for the prolonged delay? If any further documentation or actions are required on our part, please inform us immediately. We urge you to address this matter promptly and provide a clear update at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Sincerely, Full Name (Petitioner)
  7. Okay, I’m emailing them again—let’s hope for a response this time. I’m sending the email to these addresses: Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com montreal-iv-dv@state.gov NVCInquiry@state.gov Should I include any other email addresses? For the phone number, is there a specific number I should contact, or should I just use the one listed on the embassy website?
  8. I’ve already sent two emails to the Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com address, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any response yet. I’m not sure what else to do to get a reply. Do you have any suggestions on what might prompt them to respond? Would sending another follow-up email help, or is there another avenue I should explore?
  9. I completely understand your frustration. I have 3 IR2 Child Immigrant Visa applications with the U.S. Embassy in Montreal. For two of them, they canceled the interview just a week before the scheduled date. For the third, I received an email to book an appointment, only to later be told the interview was also canceled after the date was scheduled. Now, all three of my applications are in the same situation—interviews canceled, and they said they would inform us of rescheduled dates. It’s been almost 12 months with no updates and no response to emails. It feels like we're stuck in a loop with no way forward.
  10. Thanks for the info. I understand that the wait time from DQ to Interview is typically around 7 months at Montreal. However, my case was actually canceled in December 2023, and it’s now been 12 months without any rescheduling for my children’s IR2 applications. I’m really concerned about the lack of updates and the extended wait time. Do you think this is a normal delay, or is there something specific causing the holdup? Any advice on what I should do next would be greatly appreciated!
  11. I’ve actually already contacted the consulate twice via the provided email addresses—Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com and NVCInquiry@state.gov—but unfortunately, I haven’t received any responses yet. I’ve also been checking AIS regularly to see if I can schedule an appointment, but I always get the “System is busy. Please try again later” message. Given the lack of response from the emails and the ongoing issues with scheduling, do you think I should try sending another inquiry? Or would it be more effective to reach out via other channels (e.g., phone or online contact forms)? I’m just unsure of the next step since nothing seems to be progressing. Thanks again for your advice
  12. I’m writing to seek advice on the delay in my family’s IR2 immigrant visa case. Here’s a summary of the timeline: Case Details: Case forwarded to U.S. Embassy in Montreal: November 21, 2023 Documentarily Qualified: August 23, 2023 Interview Scheduled: January 22, 2024 (received email on November 21, 2023) Interview Canceled: December 18, 2023 (email notification stated we would be informed about rescheduling) Since the cancellation, it’s been over 12 months, and there have been no updates on the CEAC website. The current status shows “Ready,” but the last update was on December 18, 2023. I haven’t reached out to the Embassy directly yet and am unfamiliar with filing a Writ of Mandamus (WOM) if it comes to that. Has anyone experienced similar delays? What steps would you recommend to get more clarity or expedite the process? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!
  13. Thank you for your response! The last status update on the CEAC website was “appointment has been cancelled” on December 18, 2023, and there’s been no update since then. The current status still shows “Ready,” and there’s no indication of extended administrative processing (AP). We haven’t contacted the U.S. Embassy in Montreal directly yet, as we’re unsure how to reach out to them effectively. Additionally, I’m not familiar with the Writ of Mandamus (WOM) process. Could you share more details on what it involves and whether it might help in a situation like this? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
  14. I’m seeking advice or shared experiences from others dealing with delays in their IR2 visa cases at the U.S. Embassy in Montreal. Here’s what’s happening with my case: Visa Class: IR2 (Child of United States Citizen) Documentarily Qualified: We were notified in late August 2023 that all documents were approved. Case Forwarded to Embassy: Our case was sent to the U.S. Embassy in Montreal in November 2023. Interview Scheduled: We received an email in November 2023 that our interview was scheduled for January 2024. Interview Canceled: In December 2023, we received a notification stating that the interview was canceled, and we would be notified soon about a new date. It has now been over 12 months since the cancellation, and we haven’t received any updates. The case status remains unchanged on the NVC website, and we’re unsure about the next steps or if there’s anything pending on our end causing the delay. Has anyone else experienced similar delays with their IR2 visa cases, particularly after an interview cancellation? What steps, if any, did you take to resolve the issue or gain clarity? I’d greatly appreciate any advice, insights, or shared experiences!
  15. No, I haven't, and I'm not sure how to reach out to them. Can you please direct me or advise how I can reach out to them? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
