I have a question about the police clearance.
The embassy website says that Police clearance is valid for two years. Ours is 8 months old. We're now a week before the interview and the embassy send us the email telling us what documents to bring. They said the police clearance is expired and we need to get a new one. Obviously a week before the interview that's impossible (it's a minimum of two weeks to get the document.) I called the embassy visa hotline, and they told us it was ok to continue the interview if we don't have the proper document, but I'm wondering if the expiration date is a mistake?
It says very clearly on the Japanese US embassy site:
Obviously if we need a new certificate we will get one. But my wife is on edge about getting another delay over paperwork.
