As Vicki430 mentioned, the process is different for each embassy. Even for the London embassy it was not possible to do this rescheduling beforehand until recently. People indeed had to wait and miss the original appointment, which I agree seems like a waste. I don't remember exactly how it worked for me, but I think there was a pretty obvious 'Cancel your appointment' button. If you can't find such a button, I would assume that rescheduling beforehand is not an option. -
