  1. As Vicki430 mentioned, the process is different for each embassy. Even for the London embassy it was not possible to do this rescheduling beforehand until recently. People indeed had to wait and miss the original appointment, which I agree seems like a waste. I don't remember exactly how it worked for me, but I think there was a pretty obvious 'Cancel your appointment' button. If you can't find such a button, I would assume that rescheduling beforehand is not an option.
  2. I recommend to check this FB page:https://www.facebook.com/groups/349203266368670, or this thread:
  3. Another batch of appointments for the first two weeks of May just opened up on the website today (one week after the last batch of IL). I managed to reschedule my interview now for May 12th, proving that it is indeed possible to reschedule your interview through the website, and you no longer have to wait until your original appointment date has passed.
  4. Thanks for the update, hopefully I can get a similar slot. Unfortunately this batch of letters does not yet seem to have prompted more appointments to appear for me. Then again, earlier this month they also seemed to appear randomly, so I'll keep checking.
  5. I think there were about 6 days I could choose, each with 1-3 time slots. Now there are only two days (20-21 April) left, each with one time slot. It's unclear to me how these options relate to the dates given out by interview letter, it will be interesting to see when your batch of IL comes through.
  6. An update: today I was able to see appointments available for rescheduling! After checking daily for the past weeks, today I was presented with a few dates and time slots. Unfortunately these slots are all in between the 20th (my original interview date) and 28th April, during which I will still be traveling, so I will keep checking. But it is good to confirm that this rescheduling system does actually seem to work, and you no longer have to miss your original interview to reschedule. I am not sure why they released some appointment slots now, but assume they will do this every so often.
  7. That'd be me ;). I had not realized it would leave me in this limbo where my appointment has been cancelled, but where I am unable to reschedule. I suspect that either there won't be appointments available until for example the next batch of interview letters goes out, or that I won't actually be able to reschedule until my initial date has passed. If anyone can share some recent experience with this that would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Thank you for the replies. The certificate we provided is the one @pushbrk describes (the international version of the extract of the municipal marriage record), so that is why we were a bit confused why they are requesting another (paper) copy now. So we just wanted to make sure we're not missing something. But as @Timona says, nothing to do but submitting a paper copy and hoping this does not cause too much delay. I do wonder whether they want the original of the certificate from the municipality (with stamp and signature), as this is already an extract of the marriage records. A true marriage certificate does not exist in the Netherlands, you can only request this extract (multiple times if necesary). But I guess this extract would be considered the original marriage certificate, so I assume they want a photocopy of that. Thanks for the reminder on the terminology @pushbrk, I keep forgetting that the actual application is not until later in this process.
  9. Hi all, Just looking to get some answers/advice on a Request For Evidence (RFE) that we just received for our I-130>CR1 application. We submitted our application online in March 2022, but have now received a RFE to paper mail a copy of our marriage certificate. We are quite confused because we submitted our marriage certificate in the online application (just double-checked). Why would they ask for a photocopy now? The only thing I can think of is that the file we submitted was not high enough quality. They're not asking for an original, so a photocopy would basically just be a printout of this file (although I will make sure to get a better quality). The certificate is in both Dutch and English, so that should not have been an issue either. This was the wording of the letter: It then goes on about secondary evidence: So if I read this correctly, we shouldn't submit any secondary evidence (or affidavits) at this point, right? Just a copy of the marriage certificate should be enough? Is it normal to receive a RFE like this? I searched around and it seems random RFEs are not uncommon, although with online filing the possibility of them missing a document should be eliminated. Does anyone have an idea of how long a delay we can expect because of this? On the one hand I am happy that our case is now at someone's desk, but I'm afraid they might sit on it once we have submitted our evidence. Thanks! Tim
