  1. Hey all! I (the sponsor) am hoping to apply for DCF in Israel based on a job offer with short notice.

I emailed the embassy asking what documents they need to start the process, and all they said is "send a letter from your employer with the start date, and we will evaluate if it meets our criteria"

I've done a lot of research and reading on this site and others... And my question is do we really need the help of a lawyer? I'm being quoted around $3,000 usd from lawyers to do the whole process (not including the fees to the government... That's on top) I feel like I have the list of things to send the emassy, so tell me why I need a lawyer.

We clearly meet all the requirements for the "exceptional circumstances" and have a real job offer. We have a clear cut case. Please share you opinion if it's really worth it to hire a lawyer.

    Some additional info:

    - I'm a US citizen

    - Been living abroad for 6 years

    - Currently employed in Israel

    - My israeli partner and I have been together for 7 years, we're getting married in a month. (we have plenty of proof of relationship... shared bank accounts and assets etc)

    - We want to relocate to the USA in the next 3 months ideally.
