Jake (US Citizen) and I met online, while i was in the states, and he was working in Iraq.
We met in person in my home town of Melbourne, 3 months after many many emails. 2 years later, we were married in April 2007 in melbourne and honeymooned in the USA.
We wanted to give living in Australia a go, but after a year, many struggles with Aussie immigration and jake really missing the differences in the USA, we have decided to forfeit our australian visa adventure and move back home to Arizona.
Our situation is a little more unique in the sense that Jake is still here in Australia on a bridging visa, and has been for the past 6 months, he will still be eligible to remain in Australia legally until we cancel our other visa process.
I have jumped the gun a little, and i have had my medical done as well as sent off the police fingerprint check, but we have not yet filed our I-130 petition. We have sent numerous emails and waited weeks for Melbourne to schedule us an appointment to lodge the I-130 petition. i don't know what your dealings with Melbourne were, but we are really struggling to get in touch with them as we are eager to get started.
So i guess you could say as soon as the I-130 is granted we will be ready for our interview.
