  1. Why not? It's fairly cheap and if the OP is concerned then it's a cheap price to pay for the peace of mind.
  2. I would get a new set of proper photos for the passport appointment, too late to worry about the ones you submitted with your application. I don't know or believe that there is a requirement for a submitted photo has to match up to the photo on the passport. If her passport was 6 years old they wouldn't ask you to submit a 6 year old photo for her K1 application right? And besides, at the end of the process when it comes time for her interview you will be having updated photos taken for the DS-160 and embassy interview as well.
  3. Having just gone through this, don't expect a "welcome packet" from NVC. After we received our NOA2 we had 96 days of silence. The only notification we ever received from NVC was after the 96 days in an email saying our case was being transferred to the embassy. Don't panic, be patient. Once things got to the embassy things moved very quickly.
  4. She said it went really well, lots of nerves but everyone was very nice. After going through security they wait for a pre interview, which asked for documents like her passport, Cenomar, NBI clearance, the brown envelope from the medical, receipt for DS-160 and 2x2 visa style photos. She said the lady wasn't looking at her, she was reading off of a computer screen and having my fiance confirm what she was reading. She would read off my address and say "is this his address? Then she would read off her address and say "is this your address?" She wasn't really asking questions so much as verifying what was on her screen. After that some more waiting then you do the biometrics, finger scanning, passport scanning. Now a little more waiting and then you go to the final interview which lasted maybe 5 minutes. The lady asked her.. When did you meet your fiancé? How did you meet your fiancé? When did you meet in person? When was the last time you met in person? Why has he waited so long to come see you again? (Pandemic started) Do you have any proof of ongoing relationship? She showed her screenshots of whatsapp chats I sent her. I took a screenshot of one whatsapp chat per month back to 2019, put 4 of them per page. I made sure some of the screenshots had pictures of both of us in them and date/timestamps. She said the lady flipped through it couple of times and said this looks good. After that the lady said she was approved, gave her a pamphlet on domestic violence to read told her she can go. The whole thing lasted a little over 2 hours start to finish. She said there were lots of people who were unprepared, didn't bring this or that document. My fiance brought a large file folder, organized and labeled everything, had multiple copies of everything including passport/visa style photos with her so if there was a surprise request she could quickly find it. One thing she was asked for we didn't anticipate was the actual bank receipt for the payment of the DS-160, not just the payment confirmation letter. But she had the receipt with her in the file so it was all good. She saw 3 people get rejected for not having something, they told them to go get it and bring it back when they have it.
  5. My fiance had her interview today and we are approved! 2 hours from start to finish, everyone was nice and it was pretty easy. Now she okay from the US side, now we get to do the CFO (once she gets her visa) and get approved from the Philippines side. As soon as the CFO is done I will be getting her the quickest flight out of there.
  6. We got our NOA2 on 10/27/22 and the only correspondence received from NVC was 96 days later when we got an email saying it was being transferred to the embassy. It was complete silence while it was at NVC, but the timelines on VJ were pretty accurate as far as when I could expect it to be shipped to the embassy. Judging from your 2/10 NOA2 date, I would expect you will hear some around mid-May about it going to the embassy/consulate. Try to be patient, good luck!
  7. From NOA2 to leaving NVC was 96 days for us. 10/27/22 to 1/31/23 140 days from NOA2 to interview (3/16)
  8. Understood sir, just relaying my experience.
  9. My fiancé and I last met in February 2020, which is when we got engaged. The plan was to go back a few months later and get the K1 process started together but the coronavirus kicked in just about that time. "2 weeks to slow the spread" turned into an eternity waiting for me to be able to go see her in person, so I decided to just get things going without going back to the Philippines. Long story to say at the time of our approval we hadn't been together in person for nearly 3 years. We went heavy on Whatsapp call/messaging logs, receipts for remittances and holiday/birthday cards as evidence of an ongoing relationship. Unless you have some other red flags, I think you'll be fine.
  10. A long wait from NOA1-NOA2 and total silence while it was at the NVC, but since then things have been moving fairly quickly. Interview in 6 days. After the visa is received we need to do the CFO thing (unique to the Philippines) and we are done. 7/22/2021 Filed K1 7/26/2021 NOA1 Received 10/27/2022 NOA2 Received (458 days since NOA1) 1/31/2023 Forwarded to Embassy in Manila (96 since NOA2) 2/19/2023 DS-160 paid for, completed and electronically signed by beneficiary 2/27/2023 Attorney secures interview for 3/9. Must be rescheduled (date conflicts with NBI & Medical) 3/5/2023 Attorney secures rescheduled interview for 3/16 3/9/2023 First day of Medical @ St. Lukes. 4 hours x-ray/vitals/bloodwork/physical/medical history 3/10/2023 Second day of Medical @ St. Lukes. 1.5 hours, received vaccinations that she had no records for. 3/16/2023 Interview @ 6:30AM (598 days since NOA1, 140 days since NOA2)
  11. 10/27/22 NOA2 Silence for 3 months 1/31/23 NVC sends email that our case was being transferred to Manila Philippines embassy 3/9/23 and 3/10/23 Medical exam @ St Lukes 3/16/23 Embassy interview
  12. Well the other covid vaccines don't seem to work that well as a vaccine either.
  13. It says it will time out every 20 minutes if there is inactivity, however when we were filling it out it was timing out about every 4 or 5 minutes. It was very frustrating and I was hitting the save button constantly so I wouldn't have to keep going back.
  14. You'll need to be more specific. Are you asking how long from filing to the interview? Our interview is scheduled in 10 days, 598 days from NOA1, so the timeline below is on the money for our particular case. K1 Fiance Visa Historical Processing Times - USCIS Immigration Processing Times - VisaJourney
  15. Can she? Yes Would it make a difference? Who knows, depends on who is conducting the interview I suppose. Should she? Probably not the best idea (In my opinion). I would want to look like I am taking the process seriously. Good luck on the interview!
  16. After our NOA2 (15 months between NOA1 and NOA2) it took a little over 3 months to hear from NVC when they said they sent our stuff to the embassy in Manila on 1/31/23. Scheduled our medical appointment at St Luke's and looking for a interview appointment as soon as we can. We had one for March 9th but that was before the medical so we have to reschedule. If all goes well we are looking at 2 months between leaving NVC and getting the interview
  17. I think the average American taxpayer would advise you to NOT bring your wife to the US if you want them to pay the price instead of yourself if the marriage fails. I think it is 100% reasonable for the petitioner to sign the affidavit of support.
  18. Everyone is hiring. Are you unemployed because nobody will hire you or are you unemployed because you are being too picky? I would swallow my pride and do whatever job I needed to do in order to be self-sufficient (let alone trying to support another human). And maybe consider moving to a cheaper state, you can get a job and be working in any grocery store in Arizona by the end of the week.
  19. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding, but it sounds like you want to have your case expedited so your spouse can come help support you financially?
  20. I have seen some conflicting information about what covid vaccines are acceptable for entry into the US. I have seen that Sinovac is on the list that the US recognizes but just want to find out if anyone here entered the US with it. My fiancé has already gotten the Sinovac for work a year and a half ago and neither of us are too keen on the idea of taking something else if she doesn't need to.
  21. Humans are stubbornly proud creatures. The deeper they dig into their positions, the harder it for them to admit they were wrong even in the face of actually doing physical harm to themselves. Any changes in thinking aren't likely to be made public, but when they are alone with their thoughts there is a lot of hand wringing. I have known plenty of people on both sides of the covid vaccination issue that have quietly confided in me at one point in time or another they questioned their thoughts on it. By the way, the term "anti-vaxxer" is the silliest thing I have ever heard and I cannot believe anyone with an ounce of intelligence would use it other than to try to make the other side look crazy. I have never met a single person in my life who hasn't had vaccinations for a multitude of things (tetanus, pneumococcal, flu, measles, mumps, polio, chicken pox and so on). But if you don't take this one particular vaccine you get some nonsensical label thrown on you, which I can only assume is an attempt to bully or shame people into taking it. It's like saying you are anti-dog because you don't own a golden retriever or anti-car if you don't own a Kia, it's moronic.
  22. The story below from Reuters on February 8th. If the Senate takes up this bill, which doesn't seem likely (elections have consequences) I don't have much faith in this happening, especially since the White House said it was opposed to this bill. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to end a requirement that most foreign air travelers be vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the few remaining pandemic travel restrictions still in place. The vote was 227 to 201 with seven Democrats joining Republicans. No Republicans voted against the bill. The Biden administration in June dropped its requirement that people arriving in the United States by air must test negative for COVID but has not lifted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccination requirements for most foreign travelers. The White House said Tuesday it was opposed to the bill saying the vaccine requirement "has allowed loved ones across the globe to reunite while reducing the spread of COVID-19 and the burdens it places on the health care system in the United States." It is not clear if the Senate will take up the bill. The White House plans to end the COVID public health emergency on May 11. "As we approach the end of the public health emergency, the administration will review all relevant policies, including this one," the White House said. The CDC says vaccines continue to be the most important public health tool for fighting COVID-19 and recommends all travelers be vaccinated. The U.S. Travel Association said "the need for this requirement has long since passed, and we appreciate the bipartisan action by the U.S. House to end this outdated policy ... The U.S. is the only country that has maintained this policy." Currently, adult visitors to the United States who are not citizens or permanent residents must show proof of vaccination before boarding their flight, with some limited exceptions. Republican Representative Thomas Massie introduced the measure to rescind the vaccine requirement. (Reporting by David Shepardson; Editing by Stephen Coates)
  23. I believe it's called the Covid emergency declaration, not the "vax" emergency declaration. Every article I've read on it so far just talks about how ending the declaration on May 11th (not March) would just mean that the covid vaccines will no longer be free of charge. I haven't heard any details about what else would be affected.
  24. I never focused on how many cases were done per week or per day, I chose to focus on VJ members who report their wait times from NOA1 to NOA2. I would only get excited if I saw the wait time decrease from 15 months to 14, 13 and so on. I would rather be surprised to have it done quicker than expected instead of being disappointed because I was being overly optimistic. It can hurt people to make them think it's coming sooner that it is.
  25. It's great to be optimistic and I certainly hope you all can get from NOA1 to NOA2 faster than the 15.5 months ours took. That being said, I think a lot of people are setting themselves up for some disappointment by thinking it's going to get much quicker than the 15.5 months anytime soon. There seems to be a lot of speculation about what the approval time could be rather that what they currently are. If it goes quicker than that, then great, but until you see new approvals coming in under the 15 month time frame I would try be patient.
