  1. Here is what should happen. Close the border to anyone not doing the process that those of us on this site have done. If someone is here illegally, no matter how long they have been here illegally, they need to apply to get in and get in the back of the line (No special consideration for those who came here the wrong way).
  2. The great myth is that those illegals do the work Americans won't do. The truth is as you said, those illegals undercut the wages and they will do those jobs cheaper than an American is willing to do. If those doing those jobs were to leave, businesses who need workers will be forced to pay competitive wages. I thought the left was all about higher wages.
  3. There isn't a single illegal alien unemployed in your state? Not a single one attending school on the taxpayers dime? Not a single illegal getting an education for free? Nobody illegal getting free Healthcare, housing or groceries? We have too many people in this country who struggle, we need to take care of those people first. There is NO reason why anyone should have an easier time getting into this country than those of us on this site who have spent years and money doing things the right way. Go through the process like good, honest people have done or return to your country and get in line like so many of us have done with our loved ones.
  4. Sending people to their home countries to do it the right way is a lot cheaper than taking care of those same people for an indefinite amount of time in the US. Someone has to pay for the housing, education, medical care etc. The American people have to pay for that. I happily and voluntarily chose to financially support my wife through a legal process where she was vetted. I did NOT consent to my taxpayer dollars go to financially support 11 million illegals. Notice how anyone who supports illegal immigration never wants to volunteer to have random illegal aliens living in their household. If they want illegals in their home with their family, let ME choose who lives with them.
  5. Took my wife and I 23 months to get the K1 done under Joe Biden. If you look at wait times under Trump it was less than half that time. I think Biden's focus was on helping illegals, not those of us who went about it the right way.
  6. Was the last conviction that resulted in a lifetime ban the "indecent sexual connection with a person under 16" you mentioned in a previous thread? To be honest I can understand why any country (not just the US) would want to take on that risk. All of the rehabilitation in the world isn't going to matter much to any country when they want to protect their children. Regardless of his background of being abused himself as a minor, I don't see any path forward.
  7. Cool, Just stating my experience and that's that. Small packet, no issues, no RFE's, no problems . And in any line of work I have been in, when employees are running towards the end of the work day they will pick a smaller workload over tackling a larger workload every time. But unless we are in the room where the processing is being done we will never actually know😁
  8. Not to sound judgemental but WOW, that is a huge packet. We used an attorney and although I didn't count the pages, it couldn't have been more than 40 or 50 pages at most. I would imagine whoever is doing the processing and they see a small packet versus a 700 or 800 behemoth, they will probably put off the big packet.
  9. How about subscribing to news/opinion channels on Youtube? My wife never had any issues watching news and/opinion channels on Youtube when she was still there. I had to let her know there was something out there that was different from the curated content they were seeing on Facebook, which is where many in the Philippines get their news. I was amazed out how one sided the news channels were at the hotels I stayed in but should not have been since it was mostly CNN Asia. Best piece of advice, make sure she gets a balanced diet from both sides so she knows that "news" is really just opinions of the management of the various sources in most cases these days. She needs to figure out who is being honest and who is trying to manipulate her with their "reporting" so she can decide who is full of it, so to speak.
  10. Yeah you probably should have jumped on that Social Security card a lot quicker. We went down to the local SocSec office within the first week of my wife's arrival at the end of May last year. Just dedicate a full day and go down to your local office and get stuff done!
  11. Amendment to my prior post. 6 months to me is whatever the same date of the month is 6 months from now....UNLESS it is specified that it is 180 days. A 90 day requirement to get married once arriving in the US is not a 3 month requirement, it is exactly what the government specifies it is (90 days only). Regardless, just get things done correctly ASAP and forget about the semantics
  12. In my opinion, 6 months is the exact same date 6 months from now regardless of the length of the months. So, 6 months from June 15th, 2024, would be December 15th, 2024
  13. If she is abusive as you say then I think you need to first and foremost get away from her. You don't want it to escalate into physical abuse (if it hasn't already) so you just need to get away from her and deal with the financial consequences later.
