November 2022 submission
Simplytex replied to Vickifree's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
do any of your documents say Accepted or all still say Submitted? Any messages in CEAC inbox when you log in? Edit: per your other post, it def looks like you are DQ... -
Oh, I hear you on that. I'm definitely not one to jump to conclusions, but I think it's worth sharing on this thread as I have an issue (and I hope that others who work through the immigrant visa process can chime in whether or not they had an easy time at NVC as well.) On the one hand, I have seen a few other threads on VJ where NVC has sent out an email without doing anything to CEAC - so this doesn't seem to be localized to only my case or Russia. On the other hand, I do also get suspicious that NVC inflates their reporting metrics by 'taking action' on the case even if they haven't done anything - that way, they can report each week that there is only a 40 day backlog, etc., while in reality people with more difficult cases might be slipping through the cracks. I usually believe in Hanlon's Razor - that incompetence is usually more likely than malice - but again, without everyone sharing their story its hard to see a pattern (or not.)

So, we're at NVC now and I'm... starting to wonder if y'all were right about NVC being weird with Russian cases. My wife's documentation was all submit Oct 26th. Come Tuesday Dec 6th, got an email that 'something has happened' and to check CEAC. Logged in, and nothing - no messages, no change in any document status. A few days later on Friday Dec 9th, we get an email that the Case ID and interview location has been updated (Moscow->Warsaw.) But still, this seems really strange that there is still no change in the documents, we had a very simple case, 10 documents submit in total... and nothing has been marked as accepted or rejected, everything is still just "submitted"... Now about a week later, and folks who had submit Nov 2-4th are getting DQ'ed, I'm thinking #######! Still no changes to our case or documents. I can only hope that we get something back before end of year. I submit a public inquiry on Dec 7th asking 'what exactly am I supposed to be checking/looking at since nothing changed', so hoping that might prod them but I'd put good money that I get a reply to that inquiry saying something like 'your case is within normal timeframe and documents are being reviewed.'

NVC Timeframes page just updated https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html -
Yes, seen this stuff, but then again have to think that winter is when all the heating systems and electrical load is going to be highest, so even in the US/Europe this is when fire depts are busiest... Not to say a lack of manpower, equipment, or malice couldn't also play a part here, but just have to look at the broader context as well. Ditto to that. I've even told my wife that I'm not comfortable with her flying Russian airlines the longer the sanctions are in place. So far been able to book Air Serbia and Turkish Air/Pegasus reliably and relatively cheaply. I went last year three times, the roundtrip pricing was - July (last minute/day before) $1200 Aeroflot, Sept $1000 Aeroflot, Dec $750 Turkish...

NVC status change email
Simplytex replied to Arickson's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Yes, your case won't even be looked at for ~3 or 4 weeks, around which time you should get an email from NVC that something has happened (and hopefully followed soon after by DQ.) My submittal date was Oct 26th, and the first processing date was supposed to be around Tuesday Dec 6th - I got an email but unlike most people, no document status changed and no messages.- 30 replies

Probably best to ask the consulate. I don't know of many users here who have done a transfer to Kazakhstan... @FJinSD I think did it in Almaty.

NVC status change email

Thanks, this is good to know. I've been very worried about this, it seemed very strange. I hope I get some updates this week or at least before Christmas...- 30 replies

NVC status change email
Simplytex replied to Arickson's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
I had the exact same thing happen to my case this week on Tuesday. Original submission October 26th, got the email Dec 6th, but logged in and nothing changed and no messages. This Friday the embassy changed (which is supposed to, Moscow to Warsaw) but still no changes to documents. Hoping that it updates this week 🤞- 30 replies

October 2022 NVC Submission
Simplytex replied to Jordanian Bride's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Actually, spoke a little soon - I got an email this afternoon that the Case Number has changed from MOS to WRW, and they have updated the location. I wonder if that delay at first was because they had to get some additional level of approval, etc. I also wonder if they send NVC cases to different teams who deal with each embassy - it would make sense to have people more familiar with each embassy's requirements try to do the same ones (e.g. one team dealing with Eastern Europe)... Here's hoping that next week I get some movement on my document submittals. Last night, just out of an abundance of caution, I uploaded my 2021 W2 and 1099INT (is that even asked for?) to additional documents as I saw a bunch of threads that say people can get RFE for that even when provided tax transcripts. -

Nope, nothing new. It could either have been clean error or something additional needed to process the Russian stuff (doubtful) but I'll wait until the inquiry is responded to... -
Do you have a particular date range in mind? Take a look at splitting your journey somewhere, for instance, booking US->Turkey, Turkey -> Russia, or instead of Turkey, substitute Qatar, Dubai, Azerbaijan, Belarus... Turkish airlines still has flights to cities other than St Petersburg and Moscow a couple times a week.

Thanks for the reply and congrats on getting it done! It's crazy that it took your case 4.5 mo after FE to get DQ... I'm just frustrated that I got an email that "something happened" but absolutely nothing on the CEAC page has changed, not even a message (the last they could have done is say "something is going to require additional time to review, hold tight"...)

NVC emailed but CEAC inbox has no message
Simplytex replied to Angelikaa's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
oh man, gotta love these old threads... Did anyone here figure out what happened with their case, or can provide an update with how long after getting the NVC email it took to get any changes on CEAC portal? @Angelikaa @BYasmine @Satriabajahitam For any future people who might find this thread.. I submit all documents to NVC on Oct 26th, 2022 and on Dec 6, 2022 NVC sent the same email as is referenced by others in this thread, to check CEAC. After logging in, there were no changes to anything - all documents still show "SUBMITTED" status - nothing has been approved or rejected, and there is no message in the CEAC inbox. I sent a public inquiry on Dec 7th (yesterday) so will be waiting to see what happens. I will try to remember to post an update here if/when I finally get DQ or figure out what is happening. -
Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has updates since it seems like I might have a similar problem. I submit my docs Oct 26th, and on Dec 6th got an email from NVC saying to check CEAC - I looked but nothing has changed, no RFE, no accepted document, no messages. I decided to wait a day, but after reading some of these posts I have submit a public inquiry form since phone line is not available. I'm just trying to figure out everyones timeline here: @Yanning Submit docs Apr 24 -> first NVC response July 13 -> sent inquiry in July? -> NVC reply Aug 4th -> DQ when? @Zan1 Submit FE W2 doc May 18 -> no reply after timeframe page update, sent NVC inquiry Aug 8th -> NVC response Aug 10th -> ?? - > DQ finally on Sept 30th?

Very interesting. I guess that's all I can do now... Though it would be nice if there was a note or any change in document status. Maybe I'll get good news by New Years, either way there will be a drink in my hand 😅 -
October 2022 NVC Submission
Simplytex replied to Jordanian Bride's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Sent in an inquiry today... interesting that yours only took ~10 days, cause visawhen says they are around 20days https://visawhen.com/nvc Still no changes to CEAC 😵 it's really stressing me out now! -
Just as a random update, my wife's visa finished processing in Moscow last Friday, was handed over to the courier on Monday, finally in her hands today (Wednesday). She has an approved Italian Schengen visa! It's date of validity is just over 30 days, but also on the visa it says its only valid for 20 of those days - something which I find a little annoying, because our trip is also only 20 days, so what if her flight on the way out gets cancelled or has issues... As someone who is risk-averse, that just is a minor thing but don't want her stuck with a black mark on her record. In any case, Christmas holidays here we come!

October 2022 NVC Submission

I had been thinking to give the system one more day 'just in case' this was some error, but if no changes by tonight I will create an inquiry. Honestly, there haven't been many people from Russia applying, but out of those who have (and have been on VJ) several have noted that they had 'problems' at NVC stage... so again, I hope it's not the case because I'm an optimist and I am loathe to think that one of the US govt is systematically mistreating certain cases. -

Simplytex replied to Jordanian Bride's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
I don't see any reason why they would have skipped through my case besides the fact that my wife is coming from Russia. Already there are grumblings about NVC delaying Russian cases which I didn't give much thought to... But we'll see. As far as I can tell, the documents are super simple. I864EZ with very good salary, tax transcripts, police certificate and birth certificate have certified English translations, and I attached my prior divorce documents. No additional sponsors, no crimes, nothing... -

No, in order to be DQ you will see a message in CEAC inbox that literally says "DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED" in the text, such as what Shenoda G has: -

And I'm sitting here very confused, why did I get an email telling me to check CEAC, but no documents are accepted or rejected, and no message in my CEAC inbox! 😖
