Spouse w/ CR1, how to change to R1?
hunny&me replied to Kivitan787's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Oh yeah, may be accelerated I meant. Thank you for the correction. I was thinking of our I-90 replacement of lost GC that got denied when the 2-year have expired for CR1, due to the reason of pending I-751. Paid for the I-90, paid for the I-751, and soon for N-400, another set of payment. Hopefully, by then, we hear from USCIS and get out monies worth. Our fault that we have to go to USCIS yearly to get I-551 stamp because of loss GC. -

Entering as CR1, green card is conditional resident with expiry of 2 years from entry. 3 months or less before expiry, conditional LPR needs to file I-751 Removal of Conditions. I-751 takes a long time to process but cLPR should receive letter of extension from USCIS when nearing the 2 year expiry. (We did receive a letter to file for the I-751, we are still waiting for approval/issuance of 10 yr green card (estimated 2026). Hubby is eligible for naturalization soon, so we may get US citizen first and 751 denied -
1.) Visit this post for UID - 2.) Document submission form with passport. I suggest to submit a copy of 221-G as well with passport. (no harm in sending) 3.) Upload only the document required. (Pardon me, we didn't experience 221G but just helping you to some answers found in VJ and from our chat group then when we were processing.)

No, do not use Global Entry as that uses whatever document you previously registered. With your CR1 stamp in your passport, enter LPR line. You will be processed as LPR, make sure to check your passport for your entry stamp before leaving the officer. Later on, update your Global Entry enrolment documents with your green card and other info needed. Your travel document is now your CR1 stamp on passport. Becomes your I-551 once endorsed by the immigration officer on your point of entry.

Yes, I suggest you update I-864, use latest form. No need to sign, include the TT electronic post-mark certificate of electronic filing. Upload and also email to your spouse to print and take to interview. Seems the same still happening when we filed in 2022 - Manila requiring updated 864. We had a chat group back then, so, we get the scoop as each person undergo the interview.

I was PH citizen, married a PH citizen in PH. (year1) Divorced in US before US citizenship. (year4) Gained US citizenship. (year11) Married a PH citizen. (year20) Filed ROM. (year20) Petitioned the PH citizen. (year21) Gained Dual PH with 2nd marriage's last name. (year23) Honestly, I do not know my status in PH if ever we retire there or buy property. 😇😁 I guess we retire here and just visit PH 🤣

No need for the 1040 since you already have the transcripts. I think she is good to go! Blessings to you both!

Last 3 years of transcript (21,22,23) and the last W2 (2023) to be uploaded in CEAC and have on hand (just email and print). This has been the normal ask of since we processed in 2022. A lot of people were sent out to upload those 4 docs (expensive printing/internet outside embassy, plus immigrant may not have their phone), then if still early to come back. Some people were asked only the latest. It is still best to provide the last 3 years and last W2, to show continuous income to support our beneficiary. Just sharing our experience (we had a group chat then).

Report of Marriage: A few questions and assumptions
hunny&me replied to Nathan Alden, Sr.'s topic in Philippines
Hello @Jon and Krissy, replied your direct message. Got the way using posts in 2022, to email the Americas desk - oca.crd-us@dfa.gov.ph requesting transmittal details. Two days after, they replied to us that our ROM will be transmitted next month as they send them monthly, and to follow up next month if report have arrived. So we followed up the next month, still not available (requested from PSA and none found). So we used both the DFA/OCA email and PSA status(not found) for my husband's CFO. It took the entire week (CFO interview was on a Monday), as the interviewer does not have power to approve. Come Friday, we got the email for the CFO certificate. -
The PDF online is same as what you will receive in mail but with the official logo/paper. Read it, if it is approved, it is approved. Probably, once they completed the mailing, your status will change, something like forwarded to State (NVC). Congrats! For your peace of mind, I look at my history: I-130 Approval. pdf Nov 9, 2021 Case History: We are actively reviewing your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. (Nov 9) Your case for your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative was approved. (Nov 10) Case Was Sent To The Department of State (Nov 13).

Report of Marriage: A few questions and assumptions
hunny&me replied to Nathan Alden, Sr.'s topic in Philippines
I think I followed the site. Essentially, I made 4 sets. 1st set contains the original form/docs (like affidavits) that that will be left to them - like the ROM itself. 1st set is notarized originally - the rest of the sets are copies. (this is also noted on site - #2 last bullet). I separated all the originals (MC,BC,DD), that will be returned to me (bind clip). -

Even before (2022), not needed. Since you are filing at SF, that is your guideline. No need to refer to other consulate. PCGSF checklist is as of May 22, 2024, so it is recent. My experience with them has been good. They answer my emails, they sent email confirming receiving our application. -

It seems this is no longer a requirement. This has been replaced by " For Online, Proxy, and Self-Solemnized Marriages - One (1) original and three (3) photocopies of Apostilled Marriage Certificate" -
Report of Marriage: A few questions and assumptions
hunny&me replied to Nathan Alden, Sr.'s topic in Philippines
@Nathan Alden, Sr., Compiled all your Qs in 1: Did the Filipino spouse fill it out first and then mail it to the US for completion and further mailing to the San Francisco consulate? In other words, is my logistics assumption in the OP correct? For anyone else looking at that cover letter, note that current DFA requirements indicate that five copies must be provided, not four. How did you calculate the return postage on the self-addressed stamped return envelope? Can you post your Affidavit of Explanation, too? We're in the same situation because we performed a Utah County's Zoom wedding from the Philippines. Who did you make the cashier's check out to? Do you know if the fee is still $25? - Well, I (the wifey :)) filled out all the information. I gave hubby instruction to sign in front of Notary.. to have it notarized. (My side on form was not yet notarized at that time) - Still 4 copies, refer to https://pcgsanfrancisco.org/civil-registry/ >> Under Report of Marriage - SEEMS the Requirement has changed, requiring the marriage license/cert from Utah be now Apostilled. Refer to website, it will answer all your Qs. - USPS Priority Mail. Fixed Price. As per site section 😧 4. Processing fee of $25. Fees should be made payable to the “Philippine Consulate General” in Money Order or Bank Draft. Cash, personal checks and credit/debit cards are not accepted. All Fees are non-refundable. https://pcgsanfrancisco.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/ROM-CHECKLIST-AS-OF-2024.05.22-PDF.pdf -
Report of Marriage: A few questions and assumptions
hunny&me replied to Nathan Alden, Sr.'s topic in Philippines
Just addition.... Then months later, we ordered Marriage Certificate in Philippines (PSA). For the I-130 processing - CFO process - we do not have the filed ROM copy yet - it was still in process from SF to DFA to PSA. All we have is an email from DFA that it transmitted to Philippines. They accepted that to give my husband the CFO certificate. -

Hello. @Nathan Alden, Sr., we filed ROM last 2022. sharing with you our cover letter to SF, that may answer some of your questions. I removed our names, the one in green may not apply to you. Cover letter is POV of Filipino spouse. Our ROM is notarized both in Philippines for Filipino spouse side, and in Texas, American spouse side. None of our documents are apostilled. -
Should be alright. (Hubby stayed at Bayview Park and walked to USEM). Or use Grab app to get a ride. I find Grab safer than Taxi.

When I dropped off my dual application at Houston PCG in January, I received their acknowledgement email after 3 weeks. It may take longer when mailed as I saw on dropoff that they received tons of mail every day. When we mailed our ROM to SF consulate, took 3 months for processing. Hope this helps!
