  1. You don't need to login or create account on CEAC site. All you will use it is to check status and fill out DS-160
  2. This is Embassy specific question. Some Embassies get very touchy if you push ahead before they are fully ready, most others do not care. Letter should be sent to address you put for beneficiary on I-129F IF it will happen at all. Personally, unless you know for a fact Nairobi requires a letter, I would push ahead with DS-160 and MRV, medical and interview. BUT again, this is Embassy specific issue.
  3. Congrats, you may track your shipment here. https://mydhl.express.dhl/id/en/tracking.html#/results?shipperReference=EXP 07 MAY 2024A&fromDate=2024-05-07&toDate=2024-05-15&destinationCountryCode=PH
  4. 'This is not way faster than intended, it is about on time. Feb 2024 are starting to see approvals
  5. There should be one single payment of MRV fee of $265 (often paid at local currency at draconian exchange rate) per visa, so unless there are K-2 (children) it should be only one payment. Additionally there is a fee for the medical
  6. There are only a handful of national banks left that have physicial presence/branches, out of those Chase is horrible with their ID verification for new migrants, but the country cowboy themed one from West Coast is pretty good, and does accept SSN as one form of ID, they require two total.
  7. Looks like it was more than 60 days after they received your response. You should contact them and possibly your congressperson/senators.
  8. K-1 visa is confusing. It is non-immigrrant visa but at Embassies it is being processed by their Immigrant Visa division (IV) After interview, you will notice CEAC status will change to non-immgrant (black letters on top) and at that point you will be able to search for it by using AA number from your DS-160 on CEAC non-immigrant part.
  9. Nov 2023 had a hick up, where a lot of cases were not being processed in time. If you saw no movement at this time, suggest you reach out to congresspeople (you have 3, 2 senators and congressperson) and also the President. I think it is specifically 2-3 Nov 2023 cases that are still "lost"
  10. Yes, you will be required to show evidence of face to face meeting, since you've met in "3rd country" it will likely require passport stamps through both of you. Remember most pictures do not show TIME, you need concrete evidence showing both of you at same place and at same time 2 years prior to submitting I-129F
  11. Pretty sure it is stated somewhere on DS-160
  12. During interview, CO can correct errors on DS-160, just explain what needs to be corrected.
  13. I-129F is non-immigrant petition. If you never had I-130 filed for you, or some other immigrant visa, answer should be "no" though I do not think it is huge deal to answer yes, Embassy can fix it if they need it.
  14. After DS-160 is "Submitted" e.g. no longer editable, it is good for 12 months. Before it is submitted it can be edited for 1 month. Generally, to schedule interview you need 2 things: Completed DS-160 and MRV payment of $265 (often paid in local currency at draconian exchange rate) BUT specific instructions depend opn consulate. Generally, doing DS-160 is always perfectly safe as Embassy won't take any action on it until they see MRV payment.
  15. 6 months starts from the day of the medical. This is one of the reason why people try to have their medial close to their interview date. But if your medical is a month before interview, your will likely have less time to make POE after approval. Note that it varies a bit between Embassy, but MOST suppose to allow 6 months from the medical.
  16. Rejection rates for I-129F (petitioner part) are actually extremely low assuming correctly filed I-129F application with right payment that fulfills I-129F requirements (face to face meeting within last 2 years, petitioner being US Citizen, and both being "free to marry" The Embassy part varies from Embassy to Embassy, I, personally, have not heard about Bogota being particularly tough though.
  17. Congrats! After status changes to "Sent to DOS" you may contact AskNVC https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to get your NVC number.
  18. You are likely to see RFE or approval on your I-129F fairly soon assuming your have Jan 2024 NOA1 date.
  19. Cost of EAD application is $260 USD. IF that allows you to work 2 weeks earlier than waiting for GC, it will easily justify the cost. If you have no attention to work legally at this time, then saving $260 USD might be preferable. Also if you think your local field office approves GCs very promptly.
  20. Petitioner or someone their behalf requested to correct a name on your I-129F, probably due to typo on the form. If you filed in Dec 2023, you are likely to see some movement in few weeks.
  21. Hep B vaccine in particular a series of shots, it is probably good idea to start on that (if needed) before the Medical so entire series is complete. Make sure during medical DS-3025 form is marked as voluntarily complete for K-1 so ideally you do not have to deal with I-693 and civil surgeons in USA. Good luck!
  22. You can. DS-160 is a good for one month until you submit it, and one year after you submit.
  23. Wait 2 weeks from the date on that status, then use https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to request your NVC case number. Alternatively, if you are patient, wait for K1-FTP e-mail that NVC sends to e-mail address you put on form I-129F which will provide with with your NVC number and notifies you NVC shipped your case to the Embassy where beneficiary will have interview.
