Donation was done on inauguration date for Pres Biden. Most people donate to get someone elected. It could've easily been lost bet. "Biden would never be President?" "Oh, you are so sure? Want to bet about it?" Yes this is speculation just like speculation about his motives for registering Republican.

Regardless the political party affiliation of the shooter, I do find it interesting that so far there has been a radio silence on their actual motives, if they actually had any. Their social media footprint was minimal, most of it contained in Discord, and there was nothing particularly revealing from Discord either at least so far. I would not be entirely surprised if Trump was not even intended target, but instead it was someone local, or motivation was not political to begin with. Akin to Reagan's would be assassin.

I-134 and fixed term contract?
SneakyPete replied to Jotter's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Primary thing they want to see is IRS transcript for 2023. -
USCIS error = reason to expedite?
SneakyPete replied to hplusj's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Aren't you past USCIS phase? They approved your case and it is NVC now. I would think if you have valid reasons to expedite you need to be contacting consulate at that point and have them request your case. -
USCIS error = reason to expedite?

3rd party Case Tracker app does work for NVC cases as well as USCIS as of now. -
Wrong place of Birth
SneakyPete replied to Rosaly's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Your I-134 will likely get briefest of glances at the Embassy and the part they will glance are IRS Tax transcript, not finer points of US geography. Also neither I-129F nor I-134 are signed by beneficiary, so it is extremely unlikely to be an issue or brought up at all. If it is brought up, you know the answer, simple mistake that larger city was named instead of smaller near by city. -
Dina will be moving to new address
SneakyPete replied to DinaBill's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Not entirely true. NVC will send paper copy of K1-FTP letter to address of beneficiary on I-129F form. It is not really needed for anything though and can be easily and faster printed by beneficiary from the NVC e-mail. -
Dina will be moving to new address
SneakyPete replied to DinaBill's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
It shouldn't cause but after updating address, you might want to follow up with USCIS to make sure address WAS actually updated in their system. They are not very good about that. -
RFE photo requested
SneakyPete replied to battambang610's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
What is this Engagement certificate? You might to be careful on how things are worded on it and it will not be mistaken for a marriage one. To the best of my knowledge government doesn't usually concern itself with engagements. -
RFE photo requested
SneakyPete replied to battambang610's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
It is part of standard template of RFE for 2 year meeting requirements. They are not asking for pictures together specifically but it is listed as an example of the evidence you can send to them to satisfy it. Was part of template for that RFE. "Evidence MAY include but is not limited" I agree that including other stronger evidence to show meeting happened within 2 years would be prudent. -
RFE photo requested
SneakyPete replied to battambang610's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Your RFE is not so much for photo but for evidence that face to face meeting took place within 2 years before filing I-129F. Photos do not show dates, and hand writing dates and places on them is the weakest form of evidence. Concentrate on passport stamps, boarding passes things like that show official time of visit. Itirnary is not great as unlike boarding passes it doesn't guarantee flight was taken. Credit card receipt showing time and place are also might be good. Hotel booking etc etc. -
Random Questions about K-1
SneakyPete replied to Keegan's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
NVC doesn't request anything from petitioner during the K-1 visa process. Most Embassies expect beneficiary to physically bring I-134 with tax transcripts with them for interview, but this is Embassy specific and you will need to research specifically about CR Embassy. Since it has been over 4 weeks after your I-129F approval, your USCIS likely shows "Case sent to Department of State" You can contact AskNVC https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html And then write to to them "Please provide NVC case number for approved petition WAC2390XXXXXX" If they have it, they will tell you what it is. Then you can check status of your case on CEAC page. -
Question about K1 income requirements
SneakyPete replied to mhems1979's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
While USEM Manila might not care about I-134, I heard Philippines government itself does ask for it during Manila specific CFO process. Without CFO, Philippines citizens will not be allowed to leave regardless if they have visa or not, so you do might want to research this and coach your partner accordingly for the CFO. -
2 weeks is a bit long. Just to make sure, you used new fee for I-129F? Lockboxes have been a bit overwhelmed recently. If they could not take your payment, your I-129F package will be returned eventually. Hopefully it will get processed soon. You can also e-mail lockbox support if you don't hear anything in 2 weeks or so.

Random Questions about K-1
SneakyPete replied to Keegan's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
1. Congratulations. Seems like your petition was already approved, USCIS has nothing to do with it anymore, no need to request to remove anything. 2. Won't matter. B2 refusal are routine. Will need to disclose it on DS-160. Sister is not relevant. Do not bring it up. 3. As long as he is comfortable answering that question during his interview, it should not be an issue. 4. No, only names used on legal documents matter, not nicknames. After marriage, depending on what state the marriage will be he might be able to change/simplify his last name. Should not matter for visa/immigration purposes. 5. I-134 submitted during interview IF Embassy requires it. Plan to use joint sponsor if your income is in grey zone between 100% and 125% of poverty level. 6. Both use I-134 at Embassy stage. I-864 later on during AOS stage. Good luck! Did you already contact NVC to get your NVC case number for Costa Rica? -
K1 Packet Payment Error
SneakyPete replied to Julsia's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
If you mean I-129F petition, they will return back to you with rejection notice. They do generate receipt number for it, but it is not relevant, that number won't be reused when you resubmit it. -
Question about K1 income requirements
SneakyPete replied to mhems1979's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
I don't think Manila even asks for I-134. In general though using assets is a lot HARDER and prone to RFE during AOS stage. You are often better off just finding joint sponsor for smoother process. -
2nd K1 petition for beneficiary
SneakyPete replied to Melisa87's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Why? I-129F is not an immigrant visa petition. It is not I-130. -
4 month expiry for petition?
SneakyPete replied to bobbysim's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
That is very good, basically you just have local step left which is Medical, DS-160, MRV fee, and interview.
