I hope someone can help here. Let's say my stepdaughter had a birth certificate with the wrong spelling of first names: her and her mother both. (Last names are accurate) My wife, out of ignorance, and bad advice, had another birth certificate made much, much later instead of fixing the first one. We have had many terrible experiences in Haiti with spelling errors such as on our marriage certificate, for example, they misspelled my last name and wrote the wrong marriage date on the extrait acte de mariage. We had a judgment and it was fixed immediately. Anyway, the second birth certificate matches every document we are required to bring to the visa interview. But I am anticipating all kinds of questions being raised about the late birth certificate. Should we even present the first one? The additional complication: if they ask for additional evidence such as her baptism certificate, it unfortunately matches the first birth certificate - that's actually when my wife realized the first name errors on the first birth certificate and these two documents are the only documents with the spelling errors. Every other church, school, and medical document has the correct name for my stepdaughter. This feels like such a mess, and is extemely stressful as her interview approaches. My wife already had her interview and visa was approved, we are worried somehow my stepdaughter, almost 18, will be rejected by the embassy in Port au Prince. Looking for advice on how to proceed.

I wrote the embassy through the traveldocs website and this is the response: "Be informed that the applicants need to be vaccinated in order to obtain the immigrant visa. The Embassy can only move forward with the case when they receive the document and the applicants are vaccinated" 🤔

I just confirmed with a doctor at Gheskio that Haiti does not currently have any covid vaccines but she says the Ministère Lasante will receive vaccines next week, si Dieu vle

Even if no doctor or hospital has the covid vaccine? 🤔 We've tried almost everywhere and this is the capital 😒

My wife and stepchildren have their interviews fast approaching, but they never received a covid vaccination. We thought they would be able to receive a covid vaccine at their medical exam but the two approved physicians don't provide this particular vaccine nor does anywhere else we have tried (that previously did). Will the embassy give them a blanket waiver? (Vaccine not being routinely available/shortage being one of the reasons) Has anyone received such a waiver?

Print a copy of the email notification of an appointment. I just received this response today from the ustraveldocs website: "Please be informed that it is not necessary to register your appointment date online, you just need to print the notification coming from the Embassy indicating your appointment date. That would be the documents you need present at the medical clinic for you to complete the medical exams as well on the day of the interview."

I can't believe my wife got her interview scheduled March 20! I wanted to share this to give you hope yours is closer than you might think 🙏🏼

That's great to hear, thanks! Now if the embassy can just stay opened, and Haiti doesn't take another turn for the worse, spring/summer is within sight and we will finally get our interviews!

My wife has a DQ date January 2021, would be nice to know as well... 😔
