You said might be able to get it? I know its not for certain a person is given a tourist visa. But what sorta things would make them deny her? You said strong ties to her country? how does she show that? I know her entire family, parents, sister, aunts, uncles, etc are there, she lives with family, currently not working as she was OFW, but is helping family at family business. Sounds like this tourist visa is possible for her to come here to meet me instead of me going there, than at least we have that part of things satisfied for perhaps the K1.

Thats what I thought she would need is a tourist visa, you said it was a bit of a wait, the us site I was on said for Manila"interview Required Visitors (B1/B2) 136 Calendar Days". I guess that gives some time for planning and all, but probably not booking any flights until knowing for sure that she is going to get the visa. Looks like your right she would have to apply and I am hoping she can do that, I have sent her some info about it but I am not sure what that process is like, what sorta info she needs or what might be something that would deny her getting a tourist visa.

I have like many of us have met a philippines woman online, its been 3 years since we met online, due to covid any plans for meeting got delayed for awhile, since things have settled down with restrictions we have tried to make plans to meet, but due to things on both our schedules we have not been able to meet yet. She has suggested that she comes to USA to meet me, the plan was for me to go there but as mentioned schedules, my work, life responsibilities we just have not been able to make a plan for me to go there that works for both of us. So she has suggested or offered to come here to USA. So how can she come to USA for us to meet? What will she need? I believe a tourist visa? can she even get one?

I don't know about the "P" prices and differences in value versus american, but thanks for the comment. Does seem like things work a bit different than in America with our major carrier plans, I mean there are places in usa with not great service as well but overall its decent compared to some countries. I do know she lives in a poor providence, so perhaps its just so limited there might not be a choice in service that works well or something. I do know I am not sending any money to pay for her phone, just not what I am willing to do now or maybe ever, that is something she will have to take care on her own. And I don't think that would even help the communication situation, again I am trying to be neutral and understanding but also I am to the point of having to walk away if things are not figured out. You can't build a strong connection, bond, relationship, and plan things with lack of communication and such varied, random communication.

Well not exactly true, things have changed alot on FB over the years. I have friends who are on there of course and have heard about others who have recently joined and its like they joined ok but than suddenly FB wanted there ID's, copies of things with there name on it to verify them, its like what??? for a stupid free social media site, and why would you trust that site with any ID's or personal info they have the worse reputation at keeping any of it safe. Than I have a friend who is a DJ and goes by a certain name that is not his given name, for years he was on facebook with his DJ name, now facebook only allows your real name so his account got frozen. It just so stupid, and just not worth it. All FB wants to do is data mine all our info, its sad. Being old school I still like to keep it simple I guess and not be naive to how data mining has become a huge business, becoming worse than the telemarketing industry. So wish I could give them a bunch of BS info as I would give this FB messenger a try with her and see if our communication increased, something tells me no matter what I download and use our communication is not really going to increase much, the reasons why it would not increase I am not fully aware. I still try and remain neutral and I know she has expressed that she is in a poor providence with not much access, she says when you visit you will see what she means. Back when she was in hong kong our communicate was ok, access to technology was not an issue, issue back than was family she worked for she could not use phone during work hours which were often 12-14 hour days. So communication back than was a bit random also, but at least more so.

I agree with that statement "if she wanted more communication with you, you would have it" but also I don't fully know her entire situation with availability to technology, towers, connection so I try and be neutral. But yet I also feel as tho she should also be trying much harder to communicate and putting in the effort.

Sorry its confusing. They may be owned by same, similar programming company but they certainly operate much different. I don't want anything to do with facebook like many others have realized, its not worth it.

Lots of different suggestions which I appreciate but it should really be simple and also free, like whatsapp like we have been using, it worked good when she was working in China and even when she got back home with some wifi she has at home. Now I believe she has wifi again but is not home much. Thing is here in usa we pay for a phone plan and we are usually good to go, we download apps and they work, sounds like philippines is a bit different on how phone plans work, wifi, etc and how carriers can restrict access to certain apps. I just want to have it so we can communicate and progress otherwise I will have to give up on this and try and meet someone else.

She does work with family, helping out with cooking, small food business. I believe she is out everyday doing that. I know I could create a facebook account and never use it only for messenger but as mentioned I just do not want to deal with all the BS of that site, and also now days it seems it takes a blood sample to join, they want all this private info. People have lost the respect for themselves by giving into such companies who just want to use your info, its a disaster now days, I won't keep ranting about it. Wish another, better site would come along. I just want to communicate with her, we have known each other for a long time now and seems we are really getting no where, communication is key whether its local relationship or foreign, long distance, etc, gotta communicate to progress and we just have such an inconstancy in it.

Sounds like facebook messenger works no matter what a person has, just have to have some sort of phone connection but not necessary some load or plan. I am trying to follow along as here in the use its pretty simple, sign up for a plan and there you go, as long as you pay you have a phone that works across the board usually. Wondering if anyone can help with philippines messenger apps and help me to understand what works in the outlining areas, not like Manila where there might be free WIFI, good towers, etc but in the more poorer outlining regions. I will try to explain what she says is the issue, Been using WhatsApp to communicate for a long time but communication is random and sparse. She says WhatsApp does not really work when she is out and about during the day around town because of no wifi, she has sim card and load but still says whatsapp does not work when around town. Not sure if I am being BS'd? or what. Here is USA I have cell plan, don't really use WIFI as where I am at there is not really WIFI except in town so I just use local cell tower, data plan and whatsapp works as long as I have signal strength, thats how I understand how it works here in USA. She claims facebook messenger works for her to communicate to family when she is outside and around town, I am wondering how and why does it work when whatapp does not and both require a connection to internet? To provide more info I am not on facebook, never will be, so I will not be signing up so I can use facebook messenger, not going to happen as like so many others who have chosen to avoid facebook. Why does facebook messenger work when whatsapp will not? and are there any other messenger apps that might work like facebook messenger does as she claims that she can use it without wifi and only needs internet connection via tower or something? Any other messenger apps that would work in philippines where she can be able to send messages while out and about in town and not rely on wifi at home?

My plan is to travel to Philippines in beginning of November, maybe 10 days stay, 2 weeks total off work and such. Seems flights are much cheaper in the fall which works for me as that is the best time for me to travel, but still there seems to be a lack of flights to choose or direct flights like there was before covid when I researched this so flights are a bit longer. I am a novice traveler, maybe been on plane twice so keep this in mind with advise. I am not a world traveler, never been out of the USA. So for travel I believe all I need is a passport which I have, from what I read I do not need a travel visa if under 30 days stay, I am covid vaccinated so I do not even believe they are requiring testing anymore for those vaccinated. Anything I am missing for what I need let me know. Other advise would be helpful on Hotels, of course I am flying into Manila. Seems things are much cheaper for hotels than here in the USA, so thats a relief and looks like nice places when I search expedia or travel sites. Any advise on what to be cautious of when flying, baggage, airport, hotels, taxi, just general things to be aware of from others experience. Any advise on currency and what to bring and what is accepted, maybe even advise on insurance like medical which I believe you can purchase a travelers type I think? I appreciate any advice, info, insight.
