@Chaval oh gosh, I'm not sure I have any faith that the current administration will be much faster. But, it is what it is! I have a question for you. Did you have to provide additional tax returns from the ones you submitted to NVC? As you know, they ask to see the previous 3 years tax returns but since the wait time is so long I'm wondering if they ask for a more recent tax return at the interview. For example, we submitted tax returns for 2021, 2022 & 2023 because we had to submit in 2024. But our interview won't be till November 2025 or later, and so I wonder if they'll ask to see 2024's tax return.

@Chaval congratulations!! I'm so happy for you two. Question though -- I thought that if accepted, the visa is given on the day of or the day after the interview? Can you share a bit about why it didn't work out that way? And @Josh B K I’m so sorry for the delayed response! I tend to lose track of this forum since the notifications aren’t the best. Thanks for sharing about your love story! I can only imagine how exhausting the back-and-forth must be in so many ways. That said, I don’t take for granted how lucky we are to go through this process while being able to live with our partners—so many couples don’t have that privilege 😔 I've kind of been checked out of all of this for a bit, as it's just too much sometimes. Are you seeing any updated info on timing?

@Josh B K I totally hear you, it's a hard pill to swallow. We are indeed doing the F1 spousal visa. I am from the US, my husband is from Mexico. You're welcome to send over more questions! I don't mind sharing here as it may be helpful to others, but a DM also works!

@Josh B K Hello! I'm not sure if I'm replying to the right thread here (this forum is a bit odd), but we are indeed still waiting. We expect our wait to be about the same as what @Chavalexperienced -- so 11ish months. For us that would be in October of this year!

@Chaval That's amazing! Oregon is so beautiful. I hope so too, we're keeping our fingers crossed that we can get to the US before 2026 but we'll see! Thank you for sharing a bit about your experience

@Chaval, which consolate are you waiting for an interview at? We're waiting for Ciudad Juárez in Mexico. I'm so sorry to hear it's taken so long for you.

Yesterday (Nov. 25, 2024) my husband and I received a notice from the National Visa Center indicating that we are officially "documentarily qualified" and that the next step is the interview. I'm curious to see if anyone has insight on the wait time between receiving the DQ notice and the date of the interview? The immigration service we're using (Boundless) says that on average it's 2-3 months. This is for a spousal visa for what that's worth.
