If this is for K1, guidance is to wait till your case is “Ready”, I.e. with embassy then file DS-160 and pay fees to subsequently schedule interview. Also check with your embassy website page if they have something more. That said, what’s a “invoice number” and how does it get used in the K1 visa process?

See this for an example of what the embassy sends to your fiancée, also called as a P4 packet. There’s nothing in that P4 that you won’t have thru the list of docs I have shared. We went the confident and assertive route when talking with ReleClinic on phone and got told that P4 is not needed. We will see how that works for us when we do schedule the medical exam and show up for the exam. Keeping fingers crossed. If you choose to go with ReleClinic without P4, then I’d advise you to talk to them first before and after scheduling your appointment. Yes, it’s messy but it is what it is.

I know it’s messy since the medical panel sites in India seem to have different requirements for scheduling the medical appointment. At a minimum, you will need the following: - DS-160 confirmation page - receipt of having paid fees for interview - doc confirming interview at consulate - passport and photos - email from NVC stating that your case is forwarded to Embassy. Also referred to as FTP letter. For us, Mumbai is convenient for my fiancée for the medical exam. However, ReleClinic in Mumbai wants the letter from consulate (also called as P4 packet) that is sent to your fiancée in India. Having looked at others’ experiences in these forums, it’s is taking 3-4 weeks to receive this letter. For us, it’s too long of a wait. So we called ReleClinic and got lucky as we were told that the NVC email will suffice. Yes, it’s contradictory to what their website says, but, it’s a chance we are going to take. Additionally, I see no reason why the consulate letter is needed. The US websites clearly say that a medical exam is needed for K1. Plus, every relevant detail in P4 is already present in the docs I mentioned above. Don’t hesitate to call the different clinics and see what works for you. Hope this helps.

Mumbai Consulate not sending packet 4 instructions
pc09 replied to Hiteshk1's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Why are you waiting for this? Someone recently posted that they didn’t wait for it and were able to schedule their visa interview and finish their medical appointment. Although, I don’t know if the welcome letter / packet 4 is required to be taken at the visa interview…I would think not. -

How I keep myself sane and organized these days so I don’t think about when I will receive my case number from NVC 🤪 -
Posting it for my own sake and for anyone wanting to get medical appointment in Mumbai. my fiancée called ReleClinic and they agreed that NVC email will suffice. However, they asked to submit that NVC email during booking appointment and they will confirm if that will suffice. Mumbai is very convenient for us, so hoping that this will work and that we don’t have to wait on the embassy letter for the medical in ReleClinic.

Check out https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/India.html for all such docs. For medical, if you are planning for Mumbai, see my latest comments for “April” and “May” “2023 K1 NOA2 to NVC to Embassy. There’s one guy who had some trouble scheduling a medical with ReleClinic.

All docs need to be in English or a valid English translation is needed (I can’t find a link that says so but I am sure I have read a million times). You can check your country specific reciprocity docs. Here’s one for India but u vacant navigate for your country from here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/India.html

Congrats and good luck!! Could you share your experience with the medical and if you scheduled it at Mumbai? For Mumbai, ReleClinic seems to be needing a letter recommending a medical, which is odd. The exact text from https://releclinic.com/us_Visa.html “ In case of Non Immigrant Visas a letter from the consulate recommending the medical, will be required to start the medical (these medicals are not currently processed electronically). These candidates will not have a DS 260 confirmation receipt.” There’s another person who is stuck trying to resolve the issue of getting a medical scheduled in Mumbai due to lack of this letter.
