Reach out to others who have the same embassy/consulate as yours to see what their experience has been. you can find such folks by going to your timeline page and then click on “show similar timeline”. Another option is to go to “country specific help” here https://www.visajourney.com/portals/ -

Waiting on appointments at Mumbai...nothing's available right now. Fingers crossed... -
This was just my mistake. Once I click on 'Continue Application' as shown in above screenshot, then it opened a new page for "Payment Details". It had a button titled "Continue to Confirm Receipt" which I clicked. This resulted in a new page for "Confirm Receipt" with a "Submit" button. Once I clicked there, then I was shown the page to select the date for the VAC appointment. I am so relieved that there was no issue with payment. I just got lost in the website and didn't know how to proceed.
-
So turns out, I had to click on 'Continue Application' which then resulted in 2 more screens which I had to click through. All resolved. The website was not too easy for me to use and hence my initial confusion and issue.

I have filed for a K1 visa and a few days ago, my case was sent to Mumbai Consulate by NVC. The case is in the 'Ready' State. Per the instructions on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/en/immigrant-visa#kvisa, I did the following: - filled and submitted the DS-160 - created profile on https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/ - Paid fees for K1 after creating above profile Now when I am looking to book the appointments for VAC and Consulate interview, I don't see any link to do so on https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/ Is it because my K1 visa fees was only paid 12 hours ago and that I need to wait for some more time before I see the link to 'schedule appointment'?
-
I wanted to ask if the interview appointments are done through https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/ or some other site. Can anyone help? After my case became 'Ready' with the Mumbai Consulate, I submitted my DS-160, created the profile at https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/, paid the fees for K1 and now trying to figure out where to start scheduling the biometrics and interview appointments. Right now on https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/, I don't see any link to "schedule appointment" anywhere.

The one hiccup we have ran into is the UK PCC (police clearance certificate for UK). Their normal turnaround time is 15 working days but they are delayed by another 15 more. Makes me anxious but we will receive it before our planning interview dates (if we find those dates) of early November. This whole process definitely tests patience and I hope things move forward for everyone at the earliest. -

Created profile on www.usvisascheduling.com and then also paid fees. One more step closer. I have to say, it took me 6 attempts to enter all details before I could land on the visa fee payment page. The website is difficult to understand. Going to wait 24 hours to start looking for appointment dates. Fingers crossed. -

I would. While the consulate should go thru what's in the I-129F, but who knows. Sorry, this sucks, but I would advise following up with NVC. Good luck! -

Damn! Same for me!!! i took a note to ensure the that when i do submit the DS-160, I check that info. -
Just thought of this, since my fiancée wants us to get married in a very typical Indian (maharashtrian) attire in India, maybe take pictures of those clothes with you as well for the interview Here's what my fiancée has in mind ... a stock photo from google.
-
Fair point about posting engagement photos on social media. Probably skip it. I am in a similar boat...both me and my fiancée are somewhat reserved so don't do social media. Can't speak for my relatives, especially the younger ones who may very well have posted something on social media. Also, like you, I went thru a phase of "what if they consider us too married for K1". Reality is they can. In which case, the onus really falls on me. The simplest way is to just do a compare/contrast "this is what a typical wedding looks like in my family/culture via wedding pics of cousins/siblings/etc." and "this is what an engagement looks like of mine". At the interview, keep the photos with you and if questions start to come up around "you look too married", then just show the photos and hope for the best. Any amount of discussion or other documents (affidavits) is unlike to help, IMO. What matters is conviction while staying pleasant and calm during the interview. Easier said than done, that's why thank God my finacée has to face the interview. She is more 'steady hands' than I am . Have faith. You will do just fine.

If it was an engagement, post it on social media with photos stating as such. For the interview and port of entry, carry photos showing how an actual marriage happens in your family/culture. This way you can help educate and convince others, who are rightfully unaware of your family traditions, that this was indeed an engagement. As a reference on my side, my fiancée in India, in a solo photo, looks like she is dressed for marriage even though she was attending a “haldi” of her cousin. Considering that your NOA2 is expected any day now, IMO, this is your best bet. Best of luck.

JULY 2023 K1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY

Thanks. This helps. in case you are curious, the case number from NVC starts with 3 letters (code for your consulate) and the rest are numbers to specify when the case number was created. The first 4 numbers for year, the next three (see note below about Julian date) are date and last three for the “nth case created on that date”. For the 3 numbers for date of creation, subtract 500 out of it and look up the remaining value in a Julian calendar for 2023 (google is your friend). So if these 3 numbers are 744, then your case creation date is Sept 1st. -

Anyone know what the latest shipping schedule is of NVC to embassies? The PDF mentioned Tuesdays and Wednesdays every other week but that was for 2020. Curious if things have changed. -
I would go with the minimum duration of 1 year OR the date on your PCC. However, if you have not gone back to the country even if PCC issued by that country has expired, then it is treated as valid.
