This actually crossed my mind. Its currently happening @ Nairobi Embassy, F1 is having more interviews than F2B. Been waiting 3 months now since I became current. Well, decided to be patient and just wait as F2B because Interviews being scheduled now are so close to my dates. Its a tricky situation to be in for sure and as for your case, we will never know for certain the change accelerated your process. Thanks for the info and all the best chasing your dreams in America.

It's an automated notification/email from NVC right after your case becomes current on the VB that informs the applicant and petitioner that they are aware the case is in line for an interview and that they are working to schedule it within the next 60 days. Usually after the 60 days elapse without them scheduling an Interview at the embassy, another exact message is sent just informing you that they are still working with the embassy to schedule the interview. Infact, 60 days just elapsed since they sent me that first message and I just received that second email today. So the wait continues...

Probably meaning there is sufficient F2B visa demand this Fiscal Year. I suspect the dates for filing will be moved rapidly the next FY. It's interesting how they've significantly moved the VB this month yet for people like me who became current in March, with early DQ dates (June 2021), still haven't received ILs. Just shows you how hard it is to predict these timelines. Look at this real case for example; Embassy; Nairobi PD: 19th May 2016 DQ: 1st August 2021 Case became current: 10th Dec 2024 Received 60 days email: 13th Dec 2024 Interview Letter received: 1st Jan 2025 Interview Date: 25th Feb 2025 (Visa was issued and applicant has since travelled and is awaiting SSN and Greencard) My case: Embassy: Nairobi PD: 25th May 2016 DQ: 28th June 2021 Case became current: 10th Mar 2025 Received 60 days email: 13th Mar 2025 (Still awaiting Interview Letter)

Thanks a lot for this bit of information. Good Luck For the questions at the embassy, from the people I know who have gone through it, it usually is a case by case basis but it's nothing nerve wrecking. They mostly just try to establish your relationship with the petitioner. Most important thing is to try have all your documentation right to avoid further delays in AP. God Speed.

Hi Shajee, All the best in your interview I'm sure you'll be just fine and all the documents you've mentioned seem to be all checking alright. I'm also F2B but different consulate (PD May 2016 DQ June 2021, Nairobi Embassy). Could you please share when you received your Interview Letter? Will greatly appreciate. Thanks

Very interesting! I suspect there is really high demand for this category. Looking at F1, the filing date overtook F2B long time ago and it's currently months ahead. The Final action date has also been making rapid movements since and currently is at March 2016. I wonder if it would be wise for F2B applicants to start pondering switching categories??

Visa Bulletin moved 2 months F2B All Chargeablity areas! Just became current. This is a major milestone for me personally waited years...mum petitioned me and my brother unfortunately we lost him during covid we were eagerly awaiting together for this day so it's really emotional for me. Not there yet but we celebrate the small wins. My PD is 25th May 2016 DQ 28th June 2021 Embassy Nairobi Kenya, well aware of someone, same embassy almost Identical dates (PD 19th May 2016 DQ 2nd Aug who already went to the Embassy for their Interview) So Id expect my Interview Letter to be around the corner too! Hope this little bit of info helps someone as I know info is scarce on the internet. Il keep you guys posted.

Honestly I don't see how DR visa issuance numbers is an indicator of what happens to the rest of the world. Sometime in the year the VB moved 5 months while DR Issuance numbers were still high. It should be apparent by now there are no clear signs/predictions on what has been happening and will happen to the VB going forward. We can only hope.

If the laws don't change soon its going to be total chaos a few years down the line. We are actually seeing crazy backlogs at the embassy for the Immediate Relatives Categories, now imagine F Visas. But well, they say no other first world offer such visas to the rest of us, its a privilege and we are at their mercy.

Hello VJ, My petitioner (mother) is currently hosting my 2 nephews and a niece who are on F1 Student Visas. Being non-immigrant visas, was wondering if they should also be included as household members on form I-864 that the petitioner should fill out for my upcoming interview? Asking because I found this list online of those who should be included and it didn't seem to suggest they should.
