  1. 1 - assume it might be confusing to have part of the form filled out by hand when the rest is done electronically? Curious too what you had to fill out manually tbh. 2 - sounds like an error on their part which unfortunately can happen... If you decide to attempt to file again for reduced fee I'd perhaps suggest adding a short cover letter on top to make it abundantly clear that you are applying for the reduced fee as well as what type of evidence you are attaching to support this and where it can be easily accessed in the stack of papers. I'm assuming lockbox employees will need to check you are indeed below the required threshold before formally accepting your submission.
  2. Ugh I've heard the same from friends re: ROB being closed down due to the shutdown... so unfortunate. Have you tried the HR office in Ramstein? They do all the hiring/onboarding for NAF employees which includes fingerprinting normally... unfortunately I'm not sure if they do them in-house or send people over to ROB. https://maps.app.goo.gl/2jxX9JaAwR4EroGS6
  3. Security Office 🙂 it's often precisely where Pass & ID, but sometimes it's separate depending on location needs. It would help if you could share where you are.
  6. You just need to fill out the section re: fee reduction on the N400 form and attach your latest tax return transcript(s). They generally seem to be happy with those from what I've seen.
  7. Contact your base's RSO. They can typically do fingerprinting for this purpose in accordance with what USCIS needs.
  8. We sent about 20 months worth of bank statement as well as electricity and mobile bills. Essentially every month from marriage until we filed for ROC (filed right as window opened).
  9. I didn't - haven't been back in Germany other than to visit family in over five years. The process is relatively straightforward though even from abroad!
  10. 01/19/24 Sent to Phoenix Lockbox 01/22/24 Received by USCIS 01/25/24 "Case Was Received And A Receipt Notice Was Sent" per USCIS account 01/26/24 Receipt notice uploaded online; biometrics re-use notice uploaded online; status changed to "actively reviewed"; check cashed 02/02/24 Bio re-use letter received in the mail 02/05/24 Receipt notice with extension received in the mail 07/28/25 Soft update at the same time as N400 added to online account 10/08/25 Card Is Being Produced 625 days later... 😵‍💫 truly bizarre honestly, but I'm glad it's done.
  11. Physical address is your actual address of where you currently are, mailing address your APO.
  12. Oh how interesting. So there's just the two numbers in the same field essentially? Mine didn't a couple months ago, but the I-751 API updated the same day the N400 was added to my account (I paper filed) so I'm assuming they're also linked now somehow. Hmmm.
  13. What a mess... I'm glad that in Hawaii voter reg at the DMV is on a separate second page behind the DL application/renewal form so it's at least easy to make a point of ticking "No, I'm not a USC" and definitely not signing it. Anyone know what it's like in Texas or Florida by any chance?
  14. Out of curiosity, does anyone of you still not see the progress tab in your account? (Yes I know the times shown are not to be trusted, please spare me the lecture lol)
  15. There are more eligible "Qualifying Employment Abroad" types other than military for 319(b). As long as you have made sure that you fall under one of the eligible employment types your spouse can technically apply for his N400 as soon as he has his GC. I'm not sure what kinda document you could obtain from your organisation to show that a) your husband will be joining you abroad and will return to the US with you immediately after conclusion of your project and that b) you have at least a year worth of work left in Albania. For mil filings you would typically include a DD Form 1278 signed by a commander so perhaps that can give you an indication of what you would need from your organisation. Most people applying under 319(b) tend to have their interview/oath at the Fairfax office as they see the most 319(b) applications come through, but you can technically request any FO within the US. Keep in mind your spouse will need to travel back to the US for both interview and oath. Oath might not be same-day. He will need a US passport to depart the country so will likely need an emergency passport appointment if this is supposed to only be a quick trip.
