  1. Hi everyone, I’m posting here for some advice about a few issues I’m facing with my VAWA and I-485 applications. I’d really appreciate any guidance or insights from those who have been in a similar situation or know how to handle this kind of stuff. To give you some context, my VAWA was approved in July, and I received my EAD shortly after. However, USPS wasn’t able to deliver my VAWA approval notice for some reason. When I contacted USCIS about it, they told me to file an I-824 to request a duplicate notice. I filed the I-824 back in October, but I haven’t heard anything since then. Now here’s where it gets more complicated. On December 3rd, USCIS issued an RFE for my I-485, but I haven’t received the RFE letter yet. I’m worried it might have been sent to my old address—the one I had when I initially submitted my I-485. I tried to update my address online, but the system wouldn’t let me. I’m also not sure where to send the AR-11 form to fix this. One question I have is: when VAWA is approved and the I-485 is still pending, does the file automatically get transferred to my local field office? I moved from California to Washington State, and my updated address should reflect that I’m now in Washington. Could the RFE have gone to the field office in Washington, or is it possible it’s still stuck in California? Another issue I’m dealing with is how to respond to the RFE. I didn’t submit my medicals with my initial I-485 application, so I’m thinking of just sending the medical RFE proactively while waiting for the actual notice to arrive. Would this be a good move, or should I hold off until I know exactly what the RFE is asking for? This entire process has been really stressful, and I’d be so grateful for any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance for reading and helping out!
  2. UPDATE: I called USCIS and they asked me to file FORM I-864. Thanks all
  3. My VAWA was approved and I got a new work authorization card in the mail. However, I did not receive my approval notice. My status now shows Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It. Surprised because they were able to deliver the card. Please what can i do ?
  4. Hello Friends, I submitted my vawa application in 2021 and I have not heard back since then. I used to regularly receive a prima facie document which I use in college to receive financial aid. But USCIS haven't sent a new one since the last one expired in july, 2023. I changed address and informed them but don't know if my records have been updated. is there a way to formally request a prima facie and check if my address got update. Thanks for your time
  5. Hey Double, thanks. This was exactly my thinking! Thanks for providing that guidance. I work for a company that sponsors PERM and provide attorneys at no cost.
  6. You are right! I was just thinking of the fastest route. The waiting is game is not fun!
  7. Hello house, I applied for VAWA I-360 since 2021. My original I-485 pd is July 20, 2020. I keep receiving PF's every now and then. Since I am about to finish my Bachelor's degree. would it be worth it to have my company file for a H1-b visa, if my vawa is still pending ?
