  1. I will be flying to the US this Friday with my spouse. I am US citizens who lived abroad for 5 years and that is where I met my spouse. My wife has a IR-1 Visa. I am wondering what the process is like when we land in the US. Should we enter the same line together and go to the immigration officer together? Thanks
  2. How do I check if all the fees have been paid for. As far as I know we paid for everything 2 years ago but I don't remember if we need to check anything else.
  3. Good Morning, Our visa was finally issues for my wife. I am so happy but also confused about the next step. What I don't know is needs to be done after entering the US. ChatGPT says we just need to get a SSN and wait for her greencard. Is there any other paper work that I need to fill out? Thanks
  4. My wife did her medical on November 6th and her passport was sent on the same day. Today on November 13th her passport was sent back to her and the case has been changed to Issued. It has been very long journey for us and I hope this is the end.
  5. I just wanted to give an update on our case. Today we got an email that our case has passed clearance. This is after 16 months in AP. I am not going to celebrate until we have our VISA in hand but at least I think we are at the end.
  6. Yes we also are IR1 and in AP for 15 months. Wife is from Iran and interviewed in Ankara. I only have one advice. If you are in AP for this long and you are from the middle east, you case will not go anywhere in the next 4 years(at least). At this point, Trump will win and all middle eastern will be put on travel ban again. So it is better to think about alternative plans. Either move in with your spouse or think about moving to another country. I hope I am wrong. Good luck
  7. I don't want to alarm you but you will most likely have to wait at least 2 years. My wife who is from Iran interviewed in Turkey in May of 2023. She was put in AP since than and basically they have not finished the AP process for us. We have started to file for Mandumas but honestly that does not work all the time and I am not so hopefuly that our case will get anywhere in the next year. I hope to be proven wrong tho. I wish you luck but just try to continue with your life and stop checking the website daily.
  8. Today the government responded to our case and asked for motion to dismiss. This is after 15 months of being in AP. I can't say I am surprised as this was something we knew was coming. Its just very tiresome to be in AP for 15 months. Our Lawyer said he will fight back and hopes we will have an answer in the next few months.
  9. Just an update. We got our judge assigned and the government has till August 28th to respond to an answer. I am sure this is not the end and they will ask for extension but I will keep everyone updated.
  10. So it has been 13 months since we are in AP with maybe we had like 5 updates every time we email them. I have decided that file a mandumas for Red Eagle Law. Will keep everyone updated
  11. I expect most of the backlog clear around July. We will come back and see I guess.
  12. US immigration system is a joke. Unfortunately I don't think anything will change until near election time. Sorry to hear about the bad news man. I hope the other party does us justice but probably not since we are from the middle east.( we will see tho)
  13. We all have a way of tasting our own medicine somehow I guess. My wife was also in the same boat even tho I warned her about the crazy way the US system operates. Now she is slowly understanding that one of the biggest advantages the US has, is its propaganda system it has fed all people living outside of the US.
