  1. Hello family, I hope everyone is doing well. I’ve been part of this thread since I filed my application in March 2022, and I truly appreciate how supportive and helpful everyone has been, whether answering my questions or helping calm my anxiety during difficult moments. I’ve had a few anxiety attacks recently due to everything going on, but I discovered that my VAWA petition was approved at the end of September 2025 (never received an RFE). I had stopped checking my case status and focused entirely on work. Unfortunately, the approval notice was mailed to my previous address. I moved about six months ago and submitted an address change, but USCIS never updated it in their system. I’m still in the same county, and the current tenant forwards my mail every three months. Receiving this approval has brought me immense relief, both emotionally and spiritually. Now, my I-485 is still pending. I’ve started checking the status again and will continue to monitor it everyday. It has been almost 90 days since the I-360 approval, and my case has not yet moved to the medical RFE stage, which I expect will come. My I-485 is still at the NBC (was transferred in Jan-205) and has not been transferred to a local field office. I’m wondering whether I should reach out to my congressman for assistance. However, I’m concerned because I currently live in a very red county in Texas, and my congressman is strongly anti-immigrant. I also had an overstay prior to filing my application (I was married to a U.S. citizen but am now divorced). Hence, I’m more worried. What would you think? @Demise @Sandra G. @balo101 @Rhema1 @TBoneTX Please advise. Thanks!
  2. Thank you so much, fam! I have been getting so anxious because of all this that it has impacted my sleep and work performance. My work keeps me busy and I’m glad for it otherwise I’d go crazy. I’m a March-2022 filer, did everything on my own (without an attorney) and haven’t received an RFE yet. I do have a 5 year combo card. I’m expecting a response soon as the trend shows they’re working on Jan-Mar 2022 right now. I hope I get approved without an RFE by the grace of God. I will let you know as soon as I hear something.
  3. So if I had unlawful presence but then got pending I-485, I am authorized, right? Just scared of the power trip ICE is showing for to detain people in such a circumstance (no criminal history, though).
  4. Thank you both! I don’t have any criminal history. But I have been reading that ICE is even picking people with non-criminal background and hence scared. I have C09 EAD and I plan to keep it with me all the time.
  5. Hey, hi! That question was not for me but for someone I saw on a Fb group. For me, I filed in March-2022 and has not received any RFE yet. Hopefully my I-360 gets approved soon without a RFE. I do have one question: I had 7 months unlawful presence before I filed my original application. But my I-360 and I-485 are still pending (and I have I-765 & I-131 approved for 5 years, about to expire in 2029). I am aware of the current situation in the country. If ICE encounters me, can they still detain me even if my I-360 & I-485 are pending but because I had 8 months unlawful presence before filing the application? What do you think, family? @Demise @balo101 @Rhema1 @Pinkrlion @Sandra G. @TBoneTX Thanks!
  6. Hello family! I hope you’re doing well. I have a question: My I-131 is approved. I have no criminal record but I have unlawful presence before I filed my I-130 (before I applied for VAWA). Due to current administration, is it safe to go and visit home country (only for 3 weeks)? Please let me know your thoughts. @Sandra G. @Demise @Pinkrlion @TBoneTX Thanks so much! 😊
  7. Thank you, Demise! Appreciate your input, like always!
  8. Maybe because of unlawful presence and getting stopped at airport during TSA while flying domestically? Just thinking…
  9. Hello family! I saw this question on a FB group and I thought is asking here: - I-360 and I-485 pending since 2022; hoping adjudication will come soon in the next couple of months - No criminal record ever - Was married to a USC - Had 1 year unlawful presence before filing cases - Has a combo card and done international travel before With what’s going currently, can she still fly domestically by airplane in US from one US state to another US state? Any insight @Sandra G. @Demise @Pinkrlion Thanks!
  10. Hi Sandra ma’am! USCIS said that the mail is missing per tracking so to file another application for a replacement card. I’m looking into filing another application as I need the EAD and will try to expedite with the congressman. However, I have question ma’am: - Will USCIS close my current EAD case, the one which is missing? I ask because USPS said that there is a chance I might get the missing mail in 1-2 months?
  11. Hi family! I have a concern: My renewal combo-card was approved end of April-2024 and my card was mailed on May 12. However, I never received it and USCIS provided me tracking number which showed in transit for many days. I called USPS and even after multiple requests, it wasn't found and then I filed a missing item report. Now they say that "After investigating, it's determined that your item may have been damaged in transit and sent to the recovery center." Can I go to this recovery center? I don't even know where this recovery center is. I am in NJ by the way. I am very confused and should I now apply for a new combo card? I don't want to lose my employment. Anyone has any experience about this? Please advise.
  12. Thank you for your feedback, family! I will not respond to my ex-wife. I have another question: Do we have to pay renewal fees for EAD-AP combo card after 01Apr even if we have a pending I-485 and c09 category? I thought fees were waived. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
  13. Hi fam! I request if you can provide your opinion to my situation as I’m getting a little anxious. So, my ex-wife has been an abuser all through my marriage. I filed for Vawa in March-2022 and is still under process. I got separated in Jan-2022 and filed for divorce which got finalized in Sep-2023. I made sure to send her the original copy by mail, and pdf copy by email as well as through phone the day I received the divorce degree. She texted me a week ago asking about divorce and emailed me at same time asking to contact here otherwise threatening to get government involved. She says she wants to address something immediately and urgently but we have already divorced and maybe she forgot we got divorced because in the email she said “hey its your wife here”. I’m getting very anxious because I don’t want any contact with her. Should I not respond at all or should I just respond to never contact me as we are divorced and attach divorce copy along with proof that I sent her those last year. I am scared as she is crazy and might try to reach out to govt (USCIS) to harm me. She threatened the same when we lived together. Please advice.
