She finally got her visa today after about a month after interview. She will be coming here May 20!
Great news!!
-
Hahaha we have the same dates.
-Dawn
Seems like a popular week

Well she didn't get the visa in time so I am here in Taipei airport alone waiting for my connecting flight to LA. Worst part is seeing the empty seat next to me and knowing my Fiancée was supposed to be there.
Eek! That really sucks
No doubt she will be home with you soon though !

We sent off our AOS paperwork yesterday. Now we wait...
Hey - I know you from the LJ Wedding plans forum (I'm 'Jonesnessl' over there) Nice to see familiar faces!
Looks like we'll be on the same track now - we got married on the 18th (courthouse) & sent our AOS in on the 25th

Vaccinations aren't required for K visas but they are required to adjust status. You can submit the I-693a with the I-485 or bring it to the interview but it would be a huge oversight to have AOS approved without an I-693a in the file.
For those embassies that require K-1's to be vaccinated prior, how would that affect filing for AOS?
You just need to take the DS-3025 - which is the vaccination worksheet Priscilla would have got a copy of at the medical - to a civil surgeon in your area and have them transcribe the vaccine record to the I-693A supplement. She does NOT need to have another full medical no matter what they tell you!

Well, we did it!!
Brent and I got married on Friday, and I am finalising the AOS forms now ...and it begins again - oy vey...!!
I officially changed the first thing to my new name - spent some fun time today at the Social Security Administration

Thanks all! I am so excited packing for my flight tomorrow!!

There's a new thread?!?! Nobody tells me anything.
Congratulations!!!!!!
Ah, #######....I'm so giddy I didn't realise I posted on the "new" thread...oh well! Thanks anyway!!!

So, visa in hand yesterday afternoon!! Finally
I had many hoops to jump through for the US Embassy here in Costa Rica (seems they rarely deal with applicants from a third party country, and many barriers ensued...) , but it seems my tricks finally paid off
See you over on the new thread!!
-
Approved and visa in hand finally!! I fly out to JFK on Thursday afternoon
Will post a full recap of my 4 (yes FOUR) visits to the embassy when I have come down off my cloud!!
-
Yup, I put the same thing
-
thanks, I guessed that too, but I was just wanting more details because the poster said he got one from Australia, and I'm Australian and didn't have to submit this, so I assume it's a requirement specific to certain embassies, and I was interested in knowing which ones
(i'm a she by the way )
It's Embassy specific as far as I know...Asia and Central/South America mostly. While I am am Australian, I live (and filed) in Costa Rica.
Sorry to confuse!!
-
Thanks for setting this up Mox!
I am so close to that visa I can taste it! I went to the embassy yesterday with my "Single Status Certificate"s from Costa Rica (original) and Australia (a scanned colour copy - DHL screwed up big time and sent the package with the hard earned original back to my parents in Australia after a week in transit....don't ask ). They took them both, of course only to come back and demand the original of the Australia one...I could've burst into tears right there - I was so close! Damn (and other horrible words ) DHL!
So my Dad resent it (TNT whis time) and I should have it Wednesday next week. Which means I can't go to the embassy till Friday (you can only go Mon/Wed/Fri for Resident Visas which they see K1 as...), so best case scenario sees me with visa in hand by Mon 7th April. UGH!

Mostly, I was kidding around, but it is hard to watch everyone else have interviews while we are stuck at a stand still. It's fine though. We'll deal with it, hopefully keeping busy during the wait.NO! It would just be depressing as everyone comes together but those at slower embassy are still waiting.
Actually, it would probably be interesting, but maybe a bit early for us still.
Yeah, I'm really sorry Guangzhou is so slow. Hang in there though, at least it's not such an open-ended wait like CSC was.
Oh, guys I feel for you
I am heading to the embassy again tomorrow. Crossing fingers they don't ask me for any other random forms this time!

Hi all....
I have just received my Australian Police Clearance that I have ordered a month ago and I opened the perfectly sealed envelope. Do you think it is going to be a problem? Also, the police clearance does not even look real, I mean it looked like a photocopy of the original plus the signature on it was a scanned signature...... Should be okay, right?
*I think I worry too much*
Cheers!
Pretty crappy looking right?! I got mine and thought it would at least have some kind of seal on it!
I took mine out too, don't worry about it - they didn't care.

How about the A Register number on I-864 form Part 2 item# 6 ? Is it USCIS receipt number or NVC case number?
This number is on your NOA2 directly under the Petitioner's name, above the Beneficiary's name
So it is not the USCIS receipt number WACXXXXXXXXXX? What does not look like ? Thanks!
NO. It is not the USCIS receipt number. It is the number starting with an 'A' I mentioned above.

I visited the US at least three times while my visa has been in process, and have never been questioned about my petition.
It is certainly worth a try, and the worst they can say is no!
-
But nevertheless, if you can't prove you had them, they can and will make you have it! Unless of course you don't want your visa!?
Not really. Most people get a titre test.
Ah, yes...you clearly don't live in a third world country Unfortunately it's not an option...so, yes really.

Great news! Congratulations !!

Good to know indeed! I have been awaiting an RFE for the same thing
Our case was transferred to CSC as of Friday last week, so here's hoping for some speed now!
