  1. @farzady: Sorry for that. What was the reason for 221g?? What questions did they ask you and do u have lot of travel history?
  2. @Kai G. Llewellyn: "If, however, it gets denied, you must regain 3 in 5 before submitting a new application" What do you mean by regain 3 in 5. All those days/ years that we stayed in canada will be zero and we again need to stay 3 more years out of 5 to apply for canadian citizenship. Cant we just reapply if it gets denied? I am confused.
  3. @Kai G. Llewellyn Thank you forvur response. My answers in bold below. Are you a citizen of a country that does not permit multiple citizenships? Yes, thats correct. If you are a citizen of a country that permits it, you can become a Canadian citizen without impacting your IV interview as your original passport will remain valid. If you are not a citizen of such a country, you will have to check your country's rules regarding passport validity upon gaining a foreign citizenship. Unfortunately, just contacted embassy of my country and got to know that passport does not become valid and we lose current citizenship as soon as we acquire citizenship from different country. If your passport will become invalid due to you becoming a citizen, then you ought to delay your ceremony. I had my ceremony 9 months after I became a LPR, so delaying shouldn't be an issue. We plan to postpond oath for now and complete US process. So when we send an email to postpond oath, do we tell them when do we want a new date for oath or they will send date as it become available? Do we even have options to tell them when do we want to proceed with oath ceremony? Alternatively, you can ask them to expedite the dispatch of your citizenship certificate and then apply for an urgent passport appointment. You can get a passport on a same-day service for emergent needs, but it would be cutting things close. This might not be good option because of tight timeline and current location we are. Like Quote
  4. Hi All, My spouse has his US IV interview scheduled for March 23rd and today just got notified that his Canadian citizenship oath ceremony has been scheduled for 15th March. This is the least we wanted at this time. Well, We are planning to reschedule Canadian oath ceremony as we want to complete his US interview successfully and get visa stamped. When you let IRCC know that you will not be able to attend oath ceremony on scheduled date, what reason should we provide. Telling them we have US visa interview would not make sense at this point, right? They want the reason to be reasonable else citizenship process will be cancelled, I believe. Also, when we ask them to reschedule, do we let them know the date that we want our ceremony to happen or they will provide is with new date? Can anyone let me know how does rescheduling work? Also, after oath ceremony do they provide with any sort of paper work or documentation that we can carry as a proof of citizenship until citizenship certificate arrives? How do you know your oath will be virtual or in person? Tracker got update saying "Congratulations! You have been scheduled to attend your citizenship ceremony on March 15, 2023. Follow the instructions you will receive in your ceremony invitation". Appreciate your response
  5. @farzady: Glad that everything is sorted for you. Good luck for your interview next week.
  6. @PM HankOh wow! Thats not close. Try to call them and see what if they can give print out or not. If they are able to give a print out, I guess you have to go and pick it up unless they can mail you ( which I highly doubt) Criminal record check requested from 3rd party finger printing seems to come via mail in a period of few weeks. Its just that the one requested from RCMP is a trouble these days. We do not have other options apart from local RCMP so we are sticking with the doc whatever local RCMP provided.
  7. @PM HankDid you try calling local RCMP and ask for the update? Local RCMP where you submitted fingerprint should be able to provide a print out of result of your police record check with RCMP stamp. Apparently, local RCMP have new system in place and they can provide print out on the same day.
  8. @raisins: Thank you for sharing your experience in detail. It is really helpful to prep ours for March. Best wishes for your new journey as US Permanent Resident.
  9. Probably will try to get new from one of the finger printing agency in Vancouver when we go there for a medical just to be on safe side.
  10. Given that my country of birth does not allow dual citizenship, how does the process work if I get a canadain citizenship oath before US immigrant GC visa interview? If I dont get time to make a canadain passport, do I go to interview with my old passport, later apply for new camadian passport and when entering US, show both passports? Really confused with how this works.
  11. @3LabMom @agrisiva: I do have others mentioned as RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings and it says fingerprints could not be associated with criminal records. Document has RCMP stamp on it.
  12. I wonder why this location ( williams lake rcmp) only provided document with new format. They mentioned that they have new system updated and hence the different format. If you go to third party finger printing agency, how much do they charge you?
  13. Is here.anyone in the forum who got Criminal Record Check from.RCMP and not a third party. My lawyer mentioned that doc that I got will work however, wanted to make sure if there is anyone in thos forum who got rcmp record recently and the format is little different than previous.
  14. @CiEb2 it is valid for 2yrs so u should be good. Did you apply for police certificate from RCMP or private finger printing agency? I got it from RCMP and we got a document printed out from RCMP itself on.the next day with RCMP stamp, different from what I got it on Oct 2020. How does ur police.report look? Is it same as before?
  15. @KDEE I think you can send an inquiry to NVC. If you send it to Montreal, they might just say that your case is still at NVc. Experienced that before

  19. There is a monthly update on their website https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/consular-operations-updates/
  20. @3LabMomUnfortunately, we dont have any nearby. We have to go to vancouver if we need to.. I am positive this time so lets see.
  21. I still havent received IL yet but was working to get all docd ready before we get one. Hoping to get the right doc this time.
  22. @raisins thank you for reply. Unfortunately, we do not have local commisionaries nearby. We are located like 6 hrs away from vancouver. My spouse has given his finger print on Nov 28th and was told that we would get a call from local RCMP once it arrives and then had to go pick it up. We then waited for a month as earlier too it took like 6 weeks to get PC in mail. We did not get any call and was in doubt so contacted local RCMP to get the status. To my surprise, they havent kept any request. They told me that on Nov 28, they just took the fingerprint and police certificate REQUEST was never submitted. I asked why didnt you submit the request that day, she said he just wanted a fingerprint so I took his fingerprint and gave him two copies of finger prints( which was not true as she did not give anything to my husband) and he was gonna submit the request by himself. I dont know how did she understand that we would put the request ourselves when we can't. We have to get it through RCMP.Anyways, after having all these conversations she sent the request( Jan 10 )and told we will get the PC in 2 weeks. Waiting to get a call from them to pick up PC from them. Whatever happened, it was very weird and fraustating.
