  1. @NewbieMy husband activated his US Immigrant visa via land at Lynden Port of Entry. Officers did not take his photograph nor biometrics which my husband realized later so we were also worried if his card will be delayed. But happy to let you know that we got notified that his US Green card is mailed and on the way. So you should be good as well.
  2. @3LabMom: In our case, if I remember correctly. I think that status never changed. There was tracking number provided somewhere on the page itself which I had figured out later.
  3. We will not be importing our car. Since you had imported ur car from US to canada earlier, it should not be an issue as it already might have met all the compliances since you purchased vehicle in US. Just guessing..
  4. @ACC24 Do we track the status of GC card using receipt number that was provided when immigrant visa fee was paid? Currently, it just shows payment received. Does it show other status as well??
  5. I hope there wont be any issue. May be he can check again while moving to US permanently, which he is planning to do in a month or so!!
  6. My spouse activated his immigrant visa today at US port of entry Lynden, made a U turn and came back to canada at the same time. He was planning to go through Pacific Highway but landed at Lynden due to a missed turn. He was able to complete the process within 30 min or so. Border officer stamped the visa and was told he can use the visa for a year to enter US. However, officer did not take my husband's fingerprint and photograph during the process. My husband realized this later while he was driving back home. I hope thats not an issue.
  7. For crossing border, is it required to carry original documents as well or just the passport and the sealed envelop is good enough?
  8. Thank you! In our case, my spouse was kept in AP and kept his passport. They returned all of his original documents. If you are approved on that day, they will only keep passport and return all other documents. However, if you put in AP depending on the case they might keep original document as well. I think there was someone in this forum whose was put in AP and they kept their documents and passport. People also suggest carrying certified copies of original docs but I dont have idea as I have not done that.
  9. Hi All, We have received my spouse's passport in mail today and finally ends my spouse's EB based F2J journey. Thank you all for keeping me sane, answering all queries and helping track interview dates/ progress as we were/are eagerly waiting for our IL to come. This process took us nearly 3 and half years from initial filing of i-824 to getting through interview ( Did not expect this process to take this long when I started filing i-824). Detailed post (Quoted along this text) by @raisins helped us with all necessary steps required after our IL arrived. However during interview, I had expected IO to ask questions related to our marriage similar to other follow to join cases but none of the marriage related question were asked. My spouse was asked about his study in US whether he finished his study or not and my employer change related questions. Best wishes and smooth journey to those who have received IL and are waiting. Thank you!!
  10. @PM Hank As I mentioned earlier, I had issues when I submitted my request via local RCMP and 3 months after my initial request, I was notified by RCMP ottawa via email as response for my inquiry that the request made by local RCMP was incorrect and I have to resubmit it. Luckily, by that time I had put new request via commissionaries office and had recieved Police Certificate in less than 2 weeks prior to interview. I hope yours is just delayed and your local RCMP have requested the correct document.
  11. Quick update on my case, after being in AP ( Refused) for 6 business days, ceac status changed to "Ready" last Friday, 31st March and then to "Issued" this morning. Waiting for the tracking information for passport Finally close to end this journey.
  12. Yes, that was my understanding too. For our case ( follow to join) I am the petitioner for my husband and not my employer. Also, DS 260 does not have any place to update my employer related details. Plan to wait for atleast 2 weeks before sending email. @ACC24Thanks for your response and congratulations on your visa approval!!
  13. Duriny interview my husband was told he might have to update DS 260 form but IO did not provide any direction or anything so just wondering. May be we will receive an update in email of he needs to update ds 260. Not sure what update might be needed in Ds 260 as there is no section to update my employment (petitioner's) info.
  14. Was anybody asked to submit ds 260 application after interview? For employment based case, how do you resubmit ? Status for IV application in CEAC website is marked as Complete
  15. Hi, My husband had his EB3 based follow to join interview today and he was put under administrative processing. Reason CO mentioned was since I changed my employer after getting GC and he should have been sponsored by the same employer. I worked for my previous employer for 2 years after getting GC and took new employment last year as per suggestions from lawyers. Thought F2J should have been simpler process and even after waiting for this many years, we are still uncertain about whats gonna happen. They kept his passport and asked him to wait 2-3 weeks to hear back from them.
  16. I am not sure if they requested right document or not. Even I was told 4 - 6 weeks but got within 10 days. Below is the email that I used: CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
  17. Email is only option and you will get reply after a month or so. I had emailed them sometime in Feb to get an update on my earlier police report requested via local RCMP and I just received response yesterday. Btw did you request police report via local rcmp or third party finger printing service? Better to request new one via rcmp accredited third party fingerprinting services.
  18. Finger print submitted: 3rd March from Commissionaries Office, Vancouver Mailed : 7th March Received in mailbox: 14th March. Fyi, prior to this, we submitted Police Report from local RCMP sometime in Jan and it never arrived in mailbox.
  19. My husband had his passport renewed after being dqd so he provided his new passport information while registering for courier. Even for medical, they took his new passport information. We checked with them if they need info from old passport as well as we have used old passport while submitting DS 260 form and they said No.
  20. @3LabMom: My husband had his appointment with Dr. Cheema today. We were there for 9 am appointment and was done with check up,blood test and xray by 11:30 am. It was pretty smooth so you should be good.
  21. @farzady: This is the least we wanted after all of these long waiting. Hopefully you will get an email soon with additional questions and your visa will be processed sooner after you respond. Please make sure to follow up with them if you dont get an email after few days. So your family's visa has been approved then?
