Any updates on whether the Seattle office currently does the judicial ceremony or not? Still hesitating whether it's worth doing the name change through the court prior to the oath or not.

Also, does anyone know if you could bring a naturalization certificate to the Post Office in your old name with a county court name change certificate to the new name and request the passport in the new name?

I highly recommend that you get your name changed before going to the interview. I got it changed at Seattle courthouse and it was quick and easy.

Congratulation on the name change! Please share your experience. How many days did you wait to get an appoint at the court, and how long did the process take? I’m thinking about changing my name once I receive the N-400 appointment letter, so I can bring my name change certificate to the interview. Love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!

We got the next day hearing, but if you reach court earlier in the day (before 11am, ideally before 10:30am) I think you can get same day hearing.

I suggest get your name changed, and don't wait for interview date.
