We received the Green Card two weeks and today this came up for the I-765 and I-131 on USCIS. We haven’t yet received the SSN. I called the office and they said we can’t make an appointment until 3 weeks after green card received. We selected in the I-131 to be issued a ssn. Does anyone have advice? Will it come this week or do we need to go social security office?
My son in law arrived from Egypt on Sept 9th. By the 20th of Sept he had his social security card. Then green card came Nov 5th . So hang on

My fiancee would be coming from Canada on a K1 visa. Does anyone know if she'll be able to drive with her current Canadian driver's license until we go get her a local one? If so, anyone know how long she'll have that privilege? Just covering our bases and anticipating any delays. Thanks
In Ohio . My Egyptian son in law could drive for a year on his forgoing licence. However it was easier to get his American licence.

Egypt. What does the refusal mean? Do they need more evidence? We showed them everything

I will try to do that. I don't know if this is normal? It just seems too long! I wonder if anyone have experienced this? But thank you for your info!
My son in law arrived from Egypt last week. His passport visa serves as his temporary green card till 10 year one comes. He received his social security card on Friday.

At least they're above North Korea.
It appears Turkey will not give her an e-visa unless she uses Turkish Airlines...which doesn't offer any flights. I sent an email to find out whether she can apply at the embassy. I really hope we don't end up in Egypt again.
Oh I love Egypt...

I am trying to get my fiancé from Brazil here before the end of year. NVC received and provided petition approval notice on 5/22/2021. Has not been sent to Embassy yet after 2.5 months. Do I have a realistic chance to have her here by end of year? How long does it take when when we get notice that it has been sent to embassy for her to complete her interview? Any tips to expedite process?
thanks for any insight or updates!
Sorry u are going through this. My daughter was total time to process 2.5 years from Egypt. He arrives in Sept

Ok, thanks. I didn't think about it being a Covid thing. My husband is the applicant and we live in the South Island so it would be the cost of the flight up. He has been to the Consulate before for a few H-2B interviews but is understandably a bit more anxious about this one. I'm also the one who is all over the documentation side of things, but if everything is well organised I can't imagine it will be an issue. Ugh, just want it to be over!
My daughter wasn't allowed in with her husband in Egypt

Hi All,
I'm taking a vacation in the Philippines in September for two months. Every two years, I try to go home to visit my family. Despite the pandemic, I'm still eager to get home and be with my family. Is there anyone out there who would share their experience in the recent month of June or July? Thank you!
I've traveled to Egypt for 2 weeks in June. It was a very nice trip. Relaxed but careful trip. Masks worked the entire plane ride to and from. But inside resort and in town of Hurghada didn't wear masks. Relax and enjoy

I work in Global Mobility moving expats around the world and part of that is working with vendors who do household good shipments. Try to do everything you can to make use of the excess luggage offered by the airline. Container prices are absolutely outrageous right now and will not get better for at least another year or so. If travel becomes easier between the US and UK, it may make sense for you to fly over there and use your excess luggage if your spouse maxes out theirs. It will still be cheaper than a container or partial container. The entire shipping industry is in a mess with containers scattered all over the world due to COVID, the ship stuck in the Suez, packing materials through the roof, etc etc. Now is really not the time to ship anything by sea or air freight unless you have a company paying for it.
And just to add, there are alot of nightmare shipping companies out there. If you do not know what your doing, you can easily get ripped off. You may get quoted a cheap price on the front end, but on day of delivery in the US, you will receive some ridiculous quote before they can deliver. If you want names of reputable companies, I can send to you, but as I said above, try to use excess luggage.
Great advice. My daughter did this saved a ton of money

That is not accurate. No visitor visa is cancelled simply because a person got married.
Ok so if they marry she tells them she coming to visit with a spousal visa in process. Huh ok

Thank you for responding. I’m from NY, but the marriage will be officiated “in” Utah, over zoom of course. The gentleman I spoke to said that they don’t consider it to be a proxy marriage, but immigration does. Would this still be considered legal? New York doesn’t allow proxy marriages but they do recognize them, from what I read.
My concern how can u visit him after marriage of any kind. If you ha d a visitors visa that will cancel after marriage I believe. U will try to enter uA on what type of visa

Your thought is applicable to US citizens filing for their spouses/children/parents. Even though they have visa numbers available to them it does not mean if you submit a petition (I-130) today, you'll get a visa tomorrow or in a month or in 3 months. It could take several months to a couple of years to actually get approved and get a visa in passport.
My son in law was 2.5 years . Just got Wed.

I-131?
You will typically not get a call from the embassy/consulate. The next step, assuming you are DQ'd, is for the NVC to schedule your interview. Pre-covid, it took 1-3 months after DQ. Post-covid, it depends on the backlog at the consulate.
My son in law and daughter DQ April 2020. Just had interview today
