  1. Did you make copies of everything? I didn't for my AOS and had the same panic attacks.. this time I took photos of everything to put my mind at ease...
  2. haha I figured! I'm in no particular rush, once I get the extension letter I'll be okay.
  3. Check was cashed yesterday and status changed to Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS today. Doubt that means anything though...
  4. Totally, I am not against submitting affidavits. Like I said, whatever one feels makes their case stronger!
  5. That's great! Anyone should include what they think makes the strongest case! However, I believe the general consensus is that out of those EXAMPLES in the USCIS instructions, affidavits are the weakest evidence, which is all that @Crazy Cat and myself stated. Further, USCIS itself notes in the instructions that "Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above."
  6. Agreed. I can see affidavits being helpful for folks that just got married and have not had the opportunity to gather enough "real" or strong evidence for their I-485 or similar.
  7. It depends on what other evidence you have. What I've gathered from other posts in this forum is that affidavits are generally considered weaker evidence. But if that is what you have you should obviously include them. I chose not to because I felt we had enough evidence such as financial co-mingling, assets, taxes, etc...

  9. Just received a text message confirming receipt of my I-751! Case number starts with IOE...
  10. From the manual: 3. Males Not Required to Register The following classes of males are not required to register for Selective Service: Males over the age of 26; Males who did not live in the United States between the ages of 18 and 26 years; Males who lived in the United States between the ages of 18 and 26 years but who maintained lawful nonimmigrant status for the entire period; and Males born after March 29, 1957 and before December 31, 1959.[10] I think what you are referring to is this: Applicants Under 26 Years of Age The applicant is generally ineligible. Applicants Between 26 and 31 Years of Age The applicant may be ineligible for naturalization. USCIS will allow the applicant an opportunity to show that he did not knowingly or willfully fail to register, or that he was not required to do so. Applicants Over 31 Years of Age The applicant is eligible. This is the case even if the applicant knowingly and willfully failed to register because the applicant’s failure to register would be outside of the statutory period. The two are indeed different, as @Mike E points out!
  11. Awesome! Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck!

  15. Hi all, for those of us that came to the US from Germany and are planning on naturalizing within the next 12 months or so while keeping their German citizenship, keep an eye on the developments regarding the change of the Mehrstaatlichkeitsgesetz here: https://www.abgeordnetenwatch.de/profile/hakan-demir/fragen-antworten This may be old news to some, but maybe it helps someone! Good luck everyone!
  16. Thank you! This website is helpful, too: https://www.abgeordnetenwatch.de/profile/hakan-demir/fragen-antworten
