  1. Ok, so finally got enough ducks in a row to apply online. Receipt and reuse received in minutes.
  2. Odd to me you have to upload your green card. Wait, didn't y'all print it and send it to me? And now I have to provide evidence of it?
  3. The form requests evidence of name change. I married my wife in the Philippines and she started using my name. It's on her DL, Green Card, Global Entry, and Philippine passport. The MC is all in her maiden name and there is nothing that says anything like "from this day forward will be known as xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Because of this, I've often conjectured that following marriage in the RP, a Filipina could go by whatever name she wanted. So, what evidence do they want?
  4. Yeah, I'll probably just go with the mailing address but that's sketchy as well.
  5. There's a gap in our residence history. We lived in an apartment and then bought an RV and traveled for some months before renting another apartment. So, the in between, we have no address to list other than our RV VIN. Is there something suitable I put there other than homeless which really isn't correct. I figure I'll just leave the gap and explain at the interview. I'm sure this situation isn't all that uncommon. Perhaps there is a standard answer for this?
  6. Yes, but it does go to an office sooner or later. You go by the office's estimate for N-400 completion. For Cleveland it's 6 months.
  7. There are actually a number of non-US interview sites.
  8. Which service center and have you received the biometrics reuse notice?
  9. We're still outside the US. Going back tomorrow. We were in the US when we applied and for 4 moths afterwards. It wouldn't make sense them not approving outside the US because they allow/encourage doing the interview on the next Int'l entry. We will try to do that at LAX tomorrow but we don't have a very long layover.
  10. Final update. January 20th, applied for GE for my not yet 2 month old. September 13th, flying back to the US. September 11th, GE conditionally approved. Really, cut it down to the wire, eh? No idea if our return had anything to do with the approval but I doubt it.
  11. The 13A is a permanent resident visa and is permanent as long as you remain married. Divorce or she dies and you have nothing. Other than that it's like a US green card. The ACR-I card is a requirement of that visa and needs to be renewed every 5 years but you aren't renewing the visa, just the card. You saved yourself much hassle by doing it outside the Philippines because once you have the card, you're done except for your ARs and card renewals. Doing a 13A in the RP means doing it and then coming back to do it again a year later. You'd have likely had less hassle if you completed it in Cebu.
  12. Exactly correct. You don't have to lock yourself in the basement with uncle Joe for 3 months prior to applying. Going to the store is ok as is going to the Smokeys for camping or going to grandma's for a vacation. That doesn't mean you have to start over if you still maintain your residence. In our case, we're at grandma's. I understand Boiler didn't answer the asked question.
  13. If on base or near a base, you may be able to get assistance from the base legal office.
  14. Thank you. That's far more difficult than it should be.
  15. Yes, that's covered. But the problem is the system won't even start the form.
  16. So, my wife is eligible to file now (90 day-3 year married to USC) but we're in the Philippines until mid September when we will file. Just playing around seeing what the online filing entails, however, I can't seem to get it started. What is the trick? If I click anything like, File N-400 Online Now, it takes me to her previous (now closed) cases and there's no, Start New Case or anything like that. If I go through the Eligibility Calculator, it says go ahead and File Online but again, that just takes me to the case list. Best I can get is an N-400 pdf but I want to file online. Thanks
  17. Well, like I said, at the time of application, they were posting 4-6 months. It's been about 7 months now and the recording is saying 14. Geesh. And I think it's easier to contact USCIS than the TSA.
  18. Since you voluntarily returned your GC, a B-2 should be no problem.
  19. Well, I wonder how often people reschedule and there's no problems? And what other errors are being made? In your first example, it seems the individual wasn't proactively checking their USCIS account and may not have even known to do so. They were told to wait a month and apparently did so. I wouldn't wait that long.
  20. Well, anyone is free to do as they want. My wife has been eligible to apply since July 1st but we're in the Philippines for another month. I would apply now but someone posted they were denied for applying outside the country. But in each of the last 3 months of the year there's a week we won't be available and that may continue indefinitely. If we have to reschedule, so be it. If we're denied and have to reapply, same. I believe there are 2 parts to the process, A whatever USCIS does before the interview and B the interview. I don't really see delaying A as helping anyone else much. Delaying B should move someone else up.
  21. I would suspect a reschedule constitutes a couple mouse clicks. One problem with waiting is that, by the time you wait to apply and get scheduled, you might again be unavailable. My wife is eligible to apply now but we are not in the US so we will wait until next month when we're back.
  22. Pretty much my opinion of NCR. It's why I won't book an itinerary with an MNL stop.
